Still cannot connect to my cameras when not on my home WIFI

There are people on this forum who say they upgraded with XB8 and the issues still returned.
So I’m not going that route.
With My current XB7, I am still getting generally great service …. Only to every device EXCEPT Wyze. That tells me it’s a Wyze F-up.
Instead of dumping a bunch more $$$ into another gateway/router/whatever, all 8 of my now worthless Wyzecams are getting factory reset and going into my wife’s garage sale this weekend.
I have purchased a few Kasa cams and other China cams and they all seem to work. Live-streaming from my desk at work, a half hour away.

I don’t think you’ve read a single post here. And if you don’t know what a whitelist/blacklist is or how firewalls’ work… it’s best not to speculate on where the fault lies because you need a fundamental understanding of network security & routers to understand what this issue is.

Thanks all to confusing for me!

X finicky…lol

They Wyze keep telling the same [Mod Edit]…Rest Assured we’re working on it. Never an idea of what is the problem is or could be , no updates, no time line. Going to a new company, already have 2 cameras works awesome.

Well, if some of their cameras work and some don’t, I think they should be able to figure it out.

So many posters here being apologists for Wyze.

Ignorance is bliss!

My text to this Wyze company who is simply going downhill and losing my trust. I have always promoted wyze to other people, but that will have to stop for obvious reasons.

As mentioned before, you need to be angry at Xfinity. Wyze is attempting to work around the Xfinity (or possibly the manufacturer of the gateway’s) issues, but the issue lies with Xfinity/Comcast. My experience is you’ll have issues with any of their XFi gateways from time to time, if you want to avoid that, look into using your own modem/router.

My recordings are working properly but I can only view live feeds in the app when I’m home on WiFi. When I’m out using mobile data the live camera feeds don’t work.
I have Wyze Doorbell v2, Floodlight v2 and a couple smaller cameras. Is this even being looked at? Note, everything was working properly until just recently

Not a concrete answer. I’m also victim of an XB7. Which of the 84 workarounds is best?

Here are the top 6 XB7 options in order of what I think are the best options (Option 2 might actually be better than option 1 for long term sanity, but Option 1 is usually free if you get a REASONABLE representative, so it wins over having to spend money on a different router):

  1. Strongly push Xfinity for a different Gateway (ie: XB8) since they’re the ones blocking access to your cameras (emphasize that the XB7 has a known incompatibility issue with your devices)
  2. Put your gateway in Bridge Mode and use a different router
  3. Wait to see if Wyze convinces them in diplomatic negotiations to fix the blockage themselves
  4. Get a different ISP if possible
  5. Get a different camera company that Xfinity isn’t blocking
  6. Or lastly do nothing and continue to not be able to live stream your Wyze cameras away from home.

I suppose the main thing is that they said the wyze app is available yesterday and on their website. there’s a link that says download here. It’s all bogus, it’s not even available yet.
And I disagree with not being upset at wyze. There is no communication, nothing from them that told me what the problem was.I learned from you and everyone else. And that’s only if xfi thing is the problem.

They said it would be a gradual release over the next few weeks. Not bogus.

The app won’t fix this issue anyway. If you’re not willing to try any of the suggestions, please just say up front that you’re here to vent, that saves a lot of time.

6 days ago Wyze did mention they have a beta fix that is supposed to solve this issue, but the next sentence states they are still working on the issue XB7 modem router “squared away”. That probably means they are either waiting for XFinity (or ARRIS / Technicolor - manufacturers of XB7/XB8) to push out a fix on their end?. They haven’t given any ETA so I think this may take a while.

Since you have the TP-Link router with you already, I suggest you to set XB7 in bridge mode and hook up your new TP-Link router. I have linked the XFinity instructions on how to access your XB7 modem router. I suggest you to look up on Youtube for step-by-step guide on how to set up bridge mode on XB7.

I was talking about the false advertisement of when the new App would be aavaliable.
I’m done but thanks for the advise

Great info and advise. Thank you!

As already mentioned by @Earl.Automation it clearly says gradual release. It is not showing in Google Play yet for me, Apple users have reported that it is showing for them. But again this won’t fix the issue with your XB7.
