I’m not sure if this is a related to the firmware update, but you can definitely roll back the previous firmware if you think it fixes the issue. I have reverted firmware many times, just make sure you use a 32GB or less microSD (in FAT32 format). One particular instruction on that website they got wrong is to drag the file and not the folder to the root of the microSD card. When you power off the camera (by unplugging it), remember to hold on to setup button before plugging it back in as per the instruction.
Assuming your ISP is with Rogers, then I think this issue might be with your modem router Ignite Gen 2 (XB7). If you have this modem router, then try to get Rogers to get the modem router replaced for you and specifically request for the Ignite Gen 3 modem router (XB8). FYI, Rogers and Comcast XFinity are using the same hardware. According to the thread below, Comcast XFinity USA users seemed to receive a firmware update in the Gateway to fix this issue, but I’m not sure if Rogers did the same.
