Fix-It Friday - July 2024 Update

Hello everyone,

Sorry about the pause in updates, we have been working hard to get some of these bugs off our list as well as get the Wyze app 3.0 ready for the public. We have recently had some movement on some of these things, so I want to get you an update.

Forum - Users are not able to connect to Live Stream if they are not on the same local network as the camera

This has been one of the items we have been working hard to fix. For most we have a fix in beta and so far the results have been good. We are still working to get the issue with the XB7 model of router squared away and we apologize that this one is taking longer.

Reddit – Wyze Doorbell v2 is not sending notifications

On July 16 we released firmware 4.51.2.0379 to the public to address this issue. If you are still having the issue please verify you are running this firmware release, if you are please submit a log and let me know the log number.

In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > Submit a Log. Select your device from the dropdown menu. Then fill in the description box with the date, time, and time zone of the most recent time you noticed this issue and a description of what’s happening. Make sure the Send Logs option is selected and then submit your log. When you have the log number, please post it and tag me so I can get it to the right folks.

Reddit - When clicking on microSD from the Event Tab it says there is no microSD installed

We have made a cloud change and also some firmware changes that should start addressing this issue, we also are working on some app changes to fix this. You may need to reboot your device for the cloud change to take effect. I have heard that some users now have this resolved but I do not expect that it will work for everyone yet.

Forum - Wyze Cam Outdoor has a forced cooldown period of 1-minute even with Cam Plus and “No Cooldown” setting enabled

We are still looking into this one and I apologize for the time this is taking.

Discord - Wyze Sense Hub not reconnecting on its own

We are currently working on the hub reconnection issues and I will have more as soon as I have an update.

Core - Wyze Video Doorbell v1 notifications have images turned 90 degrees

If you are still experiencing this I need you to verify you are on the latest firmware (4.25.1.333) and the latest app version (2.50). If that is the case please submit a new log, a screen shot of what you are seeing and post them both here or DM me the information.

We are still working on this and making changes that hopefully have helped. If it is still happening, please send us a screen recording of what you are seeing and a log.

Reddit - No audio playback on Wyze Cam v3 when connected to Wyze Cam Floodlight accessory

We released firmware 4.36.13.0416 for Wyze Cam v3 on July 18 that should address this issue. This firmware is rolling out slowly over the next few weeks, but you can manually flash it if you would like to try it now.

If you are still experiencing this let me know if it is cloud event playback or microSD card playback and please submit a log and screen recording if you can, we are still trying to track down this issue.

Forum - Status light not displaying correctly on Wyze Cam v3 and Wyze Cam v3 Pro

We released firmware for these devices on July 18 that should fix this issue. This firmware is rolling out slowly over the next few weeks. If you would like it sooner, you can manually flash it into your device.

We are looking to merge this into an upcoming firmware release

Fix-It Friday - July 2024 Update

Updated with recent firmware release:

• iOS users still unable to change camera list for chime devices for Doorbell v2.

• Alexa still not chiming when doorbell is pressed. If you do get it to work by deleting and resetting EVERYTHING it works for a day at best then stops again.

• OG cameras still not chiming either, even when deleted and re-added as a chime from an android device.

I did this in the previous thread. Did you not receive it?

No, no it didn’t fix not sending notifications. This is a doorbell, that is it’s primary function. It would be nice if it worked consistently. Also maybe differentiate the doorbell press vs movement in the overall event log filter and notification enable/disable settings area.

When is the app freezing issue going to be fixed? The new app update still has this issue with iOS devices.

How many are you waiting for in order to get this fixed? There were more from the other thread as well that may not be seeing this thread.

How does one volunteer to test the beta fix for the live streaming issue?

All of my cameras are offline, except for the one furthest, away from the router. Even my air cleaner will not stay online.

After all of the equipment that I have bought, from wise from earbuds to air cleaners, to light bulbs to switches, to plugs, now that I bought all the things on wise.Now everything’s gonna stop working.I am highly upset

We do not wait for a certain amount, the more we get the better chance we have in finding the issue quickly.

We have noticed it did not fix it for everyone and are testing another beta now.

This is still a problem with firmware 4.36.11.8391 on the V3 and 4.58.11.8391 on the V3 Pro. It does not seem to affect the V4 (I only have one of them though).

For some reason none of my V3 cameras nor the V3 Pros are allowing me to update to that new firmware version released on 7/18/2024 with the *.0416 suffix.
I am still running the 2.50.9(512) android app with Cam Unlimited.

The live streaming issue is out of control. It really doesn’t matter whom is at fault, but if Wyze can’t get their products to work then it’s such a failure and embarrassment. Real talk, do I sell my Wyze ecosystem?

I just want my doorbell v2 units to actually consistently send notifications when the door bell is pressed. I am on the newest beta version. I am ready to help review and write code for them.

  • I have two doorbell v2 units.
  • They are connected to a 16V mechanical dual chime using standard way per wyze (chime has two dings for front, one ding for back).
  • They are connected to modern 16V-30vA transformer.
  • Both have excellent wifi connection.
  • There are no issues with video live feed, accessing, mechanical chime going off when button pressed, etc. Everything but notifications when bell is pressed works.
  • I have notifications on with motion and sound notifications disabled.
  • I have external bell sound disabled.
  • They are set to mechanical chime.
  • I don’t have paid service.
  • I have high speed micro sd card with 24hr recording enabled.
  • Disabling mechanical chime does seem to fix the consistency
  • Disabling notifications doesn’t change things
  • Enabling doorbell device sound does change things.
  • I tried resetting the services, reboot nightly, etc.
  • I don’t believe this is a power or networking issue. Mechanical chime works every time for both units and live video feeds work perfectly.
  • No other device that does push notifications from my network have consistency issues, like garage door openers.
  • Is this a cloud issue where there is a timeout and/or in ability to retry? Is there a bug in the motion vs doorbell press, or timing/queuing issue in the local device itself?

Wyze, can you disclose what you fixed to supposedly fix the notification issue? Did you only fix for motion or also doorbell press notifications?

I continue to see notifications come thru with no image attached, happens what seems to be randomly. I captured the log on my V3 and V2 cams that just had this happen and submitted them. I can’t identify a pattern to when this occurs, I can go a day with no missing images then suddenly have them happen repeatedly on the next day. Almost seems like a server somewhere gets overloaded and drops the images. They are clearly being captured by Wyze since they all DO show up in the event viewer tab.

The logs submitted have a screen print of the android’s notification page showing that images are missing from some notifications.
