Thank you for following up on this. I was thinking about it again within the past day or so but haven’t tried submitting a relevant log because it happens so randomly and infrequently that I often don’t think about it. I do definitely see this issue from time to time, though, particularly (IIRC) on the Video Doorbell v2 which still gives me fairly reliable notifications (I believe because I’m still operating it on the January firmware).
I noticed that as well. I have two V3 cameras on 4.36.11.8391 and I don’t get the prompt to update to 4.36.13.0416. In the end, I just manually flashed one of them since it was easily accessible.
Please note *.13.0416 firmware will introduce a new behaviour as mentioned below.
I still have not been notified of a firmware update available for either my V3 or V3 Pro cameras. After reading that new behavior you posted, I am in no rush now!
Thanks for the “heads-up”!
everything on my account is offline again
After enabling local NTP server and enabling “Intercept NTP client requests” on my Asus router, I can say this issue is resolved with this workaround. In fact, it’s even better than before because I can power cycle my camera while I don’t have any internet and it will still record properly (to properly simulate power and internet outage).
On older firmware like *.11.8391 it will still record properly after 30 min of internet outage, but if you power cycle them (without internet) then the recordings start saving in a randomly generated dated folder with a incorrect timestamp (this is expected behaviour).

FYI, that means it might be a potential workaround for OG cameras as well and overall cameras in general that are power cycled (due to power surge) without internet.
I haven’t personally experienced this on a Cam OG, though I’ve read about the issue here. It seems like you’ve really done a lot of work in tracking this down! Thanks for the tag.
COOL! Thanks for sharing/tagging.
I’ll have to do a test with that. Last time I tried re-directing NTP request to my local Stratum-1 NTP server, the Wyze cameras did not like that they were getting time from a source other than where ever they wanted it, and every camera was hitting my time server every second.
That was a couple years ago.
