As for the audio, I get this message when activating it
I think that’s just for events though. The audio works on the live stream for me on the cameras I’ve tried.
Correct. Audio for events has yet to be developed. It’s currently on the " Requested Features" list in the Add More features to Wyze Web View topic:
Please note that we’re in the middle of doing merges to the Add More features to Wyze Web View topic to consolidate web-view tagged wishlist requests and wayward Web View-related non-wishlist topics.
Getting the same connection failures from the new portal as others are reporting here. The old Web View was inconsistent, but at least it worked about half the time for me, replaced now with no web access at all. It amazes me that after several years of development Wyze still hasn’t figured out browser viewing. My old Foscams did this reliably a decade ago.
Also, if they had to retire Web View, instead of suddenly giving users who bookmarked that link a cryptic XML error, wouldn’t it have been logical to at least show a message saying it’s been replaced by a portal at a new address (if not automatically redirect to it)? That’s what a competent company would have done.
After several years and plenty of $$$, I just wish this would work.
I’m having the same issue. The web viewer randomly reports that cameras are not connected, but I can look at them on the app on my phone and they’re working just fine, which of course makes no sense.
Sounds like the website is garbage.
The new Webview portal is definitely a step backward from the old one.
I have to press reconnect so much on different cameras, it is just not worth it.
Using Edge Chromium (Version 119.0.2151.58) on Windows 11 (version 23H2).
Will I ever see my outdoor cams on the portal?
I do pay for cam plus, and my Video Doorbell is on firmware 4.25.1.316 (which I believe to be current), yet I cannot view anything online. I don’t know why this product is so bad, but it lacks features that my older Cam V2 had.
Is there any way to get the Video Doorbell to view events online?
The web portal is an unmitigated disaster. Wyze’s resources would be better used developing a PC/MAC based app than trying to force this to work with a variety of web browsers.
The VDBv1 Doorbell will not live stream, but Events from the Doorbell are able to be streamed and viewed in the Events section.
As Wyze continues to bungle web viewing, I thought I’d share my workaround. I set up an old phone under the monitor where I used to run Web View before they pulled the plug on it.
I use a tablet. It’s a larger display.
And wonder why I’m paying 99 bucks for cam +
That is good for one cam but if you have multiple a larger screen is nicer but the folks at Wyze do not seem to possess the technical ability to make a web portal function properly. I wonder how the folks at Roku are making this happen. I believe they are running a private label Wyze system that offers everything Wyze offers us. We need to get a refund on the cam+ since the only benefit I can see was getting the web viewer, which has never worked.
I bet the Wyze programmers also feel the same way.
I don’t love it really. I like that you could select groups of cameras before, since I have many offline cameras that always show up. Also, I think the connectivity is much worse, my cameras have to be reconnected in the web app all the time! I have old cams, and new cams alike. Additionally, I can no longer see the groups of cameras that have been shared with me by friends and family.
Kind of a miss to remove functionality. Having to deselect cameras that are offline constantly is annoying, and not being able to see shared cams is worse.
I’m working on a mega bug thread on the My View browser pages.
It’s pretty bad as it is now
It’ll take a couple more days to write it up
My OG & OG telephoto cams are struggling to connect to new Web view? often bring up old view and go to reconnect screen?
timeout settings?
Welcome to the world of Wyze. None of my cams stay connected for more than a few minutes. I have almost one of every cam they have made except for the V1. While they all connect to the app not so much this the web view or web portal.
PS. Don’t believe what they say about Chrome. Only 3 of the 9 came up and they were all crashed within 2 minutes.
