Wyze Web Events website update problems

Since yesterday the Wyze Web Events website can’t show event feeds anymore.
When you click on a camera it shows only a preview pic and a message pops up:
“Unable to load this Event”
“Please check your Internet connection and
try again to load this Event.”

I’m on fiber, Internet is working fine with 200mbps.

UPDATE: I just noticed that the only feed that shows is the one camera I’m having a subscription. The other 7 usually showed 12 seconds of an event.

Anyone else with the same problem? Thx

I’m not seeing this, but I do notice that the UI has changed. When I click an event now, I get kind of pop-up or overlay effect with the viewer front and center for the event I selected instead of the previous experience, which was to show the viewer on the left ⅔-¾ or so with a vertically-scrolling events list on the right. The videos are playing for me. This is in a current version of Google Chrome on Linux.

You didn’t mention what browser you’re using, and I don’t want to assume that your profile picture indicates Apple Safari, so I think it would be important to note that in case you’re using an unsupported browser.

thanks for the reply! I’m on Google Chrome and you’re right the UI changed as well. I guess I’ll wait a little while, maybe it will go back to normal.

Waiting might be the thing to do for now, as I think Wyze likes to make unannounced back-end changes, so this might be a temporary glitch for you. I see that you updated your initial post and that you’re seeing some video now. I didn’t think to ask about subscriptions before, as all my cameras are currently on Cam Unlimited.

I have to use the keyboard to close the event popup. There should be a close button.

Why not just click outside the modal element/lightbox area on a blank area of the background window? That’s what I’m doing.

Yeah that works, too. But why make not so obvious? I guess it’s another one of those Wyse UI paradigms; the Easter Egg school of UI design.

Yes, this exact problem happened to me also. On 6/29 the UI changed like others said below and now events on 3 of my 4 cameras will not load if they are 12 seconds. I have two paid and two on Cam Plus Lite. One camera, my Cam/Pan, the events load fine. The two Cam Lite cameras will not load as all events are 12 seconds. My other newest camera the OG is a paid Cam Plus and it will only load events if they are over 12 seconds. I am using Chrome but tried Firefox and Edge with the same results. Also my internet if Fine! I am happy to see however that I am not the only one experiencing this problem. Also the mobile app works fine, loads everything.

The problem has been around for a while now, at least a week. Since you can view these events on the app, it is definitely a web problem.

I might be wrong, but I think Cam Lite is not supported in Web View.

It will not show the live feed but the 12 second events have always showed.

I’m having no issues, here. On Safari on a MacBook PRO

I was over at my sister’s house and viewed my shared cam from there. It also would not load from her house on her Mac. All her other cameras are working fine. Still don’t know why three of mine are not.

I’m curious to know why Wyze made the change to access the 12sec web-clip. It would be great if someone from Wyze could shed some light on this.

exactly!

Yeah, I hope so. I think when I had the camera record sound events they are 12 seconds. I turned off the sound. As I look at the clips, they are all sound events and will not load.

Well so far nothing has changed. Web View Events is still not working on any Cam Lite Camera with 12 second video clips. It seems they are trying everything they can to get us to pay for every camera we own.

I have the same issue, “Unable to load this Event”. As usual, Wyze is playing dead and do not let us know what is going on. Very bad habit. Wyze should let us know what the issue is and that they are working on it, but they prefer to just ignore their customer hopping they’ll go away. This is mostly a technical community and most people understand that issues happen, this is how one deal with the issue that matters and Wyze is not too great about this!

Yes, I wish they would chime in as well. I’ll bet we have just lost that function and will hear nothing else about it. Just like “Audio from this device is not supported on the browser. This is coming soon.” It is never coming, why do they keep teasing us? I won’t buy any other Wyze cams. I already have a dependable Lorex system but the Wyze was just a different way to look at it and easy to move cameras in different places. They are so unreliable though, I miss so much. If I didn’t have Lorex to go double check I would have never known.
