Installed without issues. One item I am experiencing with Android. The Notification sound I have selected is Sound 2. However, sound 3 is what plays when I get a notification.

Curious if anyone else is seeing this

My V4s do timelapse again or the one I tested does.

I use sound 1 and customize it with a custom sound and it’s still playing properly.

Thanks, I will try another sound and see.

Thanks for testing and reporting back on this. I know you reported it weeks ago, and I imagine you were using the 3.7 RC at the time. :+1:

Did you happen to try with the 3.7.8 hotfix that was released today? I haven’t gotten to that one yet, and I didn’t know if you ever reported on apps in the production channel.

Yes, latest download seemed to fix timelapse, About says v3.8 (b705)

I’ll try my others today sometime, should work though.

I wonder if you misunderstood my question. I realize this topic is about the v3.8β release and that you’ve tested with that, but I was curious to know if you happened to test with the v3.7.8 production release hotfix prior to grabbing the latest beta app. No biggie if you didn’t. I might check for myself later unless I see other affected users reporting resolution with the production channel app.

I understood, I guess, but as app fixes become available I download them. I “did not” try timelapse with the hotfix that I’m aware of. App fix, download. Old and forgetful. Lol

What oddities during testing timelapse I did see, and no way to verify now which version, no log of updates as far as I know.

When it wasn’t working, I would test short timelapses even though they failed in settings, what resulted “I think”,…odd large timelapse files as in GB, so those just got deleted. And I could be wrong and was just testing anyhow.

But I wasn’t paying close attention always, timelapse is important when if I need it, which isn’t often, auroros etc. felling a tree etc.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

No sweat. I appreciate your taking the time to respond! :+1:

I’m not currently in the beta app track and haven’t personally seen time lapse recordings fail when I’ve tested recently on Cam v4, but there have definitely been some UI quirks on the Timelapse screen in the past few Android app releases that I’ve described elsewhere when trying to help other users troubleshoot. Despite those oddities, I’ve still been able to retrieve time lapse recordings via the app, and I see them in the time_lapse subdirectory on the microSD card when I pull it. I’ve just been trying short (~10 minutes or so with a 6-second capture interval) schedules for testing because it’s not a feature I use very often, so I don’t know if the length of the scheduled time lapse figures into the issue that affected users have been reporting. :man_shrugging:

This is encouraging:

Thanks, @WyzeAndy and the rest of the team! :+1:

Installed on Samsung A15 and Bluestacks on PC. Works OK on phone but both my cameras (V3 and Doorbell V2) fail to connect on Bluestacks (both worked previously).

Guessing this is timing, as I’m sure other would have seen this, But update and the shop isn’t loading at all for me. Forced closed and uninstalled and reinstalled and store just isn’t wanting to load.

Getting over covid so bear with me. I’m running at about 20% capacity.

Updated to b705 on my Samsung S24 ultra. I always try and act like a normal user and just opened the app. It blinked and threw me back to my android home page. Opened again and this time it took. Chalked it up to dirty cache etc so I went through and cleared the android cache, wyze app cache, restarted phone. All was good for about 10 minutes or so then it crashed again. Reverted back to android home page. Reopened app and all seemed normal. Next session, about 30 minutes later, it crashed again. This time it would not recover. I cleared caches again, restarted phone etc. Did not help. Finally I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It recovered.

Thinking it was a buggy install I went my merry way but today it is crashing again. Hard to pinpoint the repeatability but it’s at least once every 15 minute session. It does seem to do it more often from an app open. Once it’s loaded it seems stable but needs more testing. As a reference the previous production release was stable and showed non of these issues.

Now for the kicker. I also installed b705 on my Samsung a9+ tablet. There was an initial crash but that was it. It’s been running for 24 hours without issue. I have to be carefull as I’ve been using the phone as my daily driver, the tablet has been loafing.

For the record

Samsung S24 Ultra, android 15

Samsung a9+, android 15

Both running 3.8.0 b705

That is strange, I’m also using an S24 Ultra, differences being I’m running Samsung Beta One UI8 and Android 16. It hasn’t blipped once.

I even tried opening and closing the Wyze app b705 more than a dozen times rapidly. I checked my memory, it’s not eating Ram.

I also have an a9+ but can’t compare on that, it’s just running Fully Kiosk Browser for Home Assistant.

You did what I’d have done, clear cache and data, reinstall, I might have even deleted the app and downloaded it again.

I’d probably have have cleared the phones cache partition as well, but your comment cleared Android cache might be your way of saying it vs mine.

Checked in phone setting for any Samsung updates? Or a Google Play system update? Our differences may or may not be related.

But then who knows.:person_shrugging:

Thanks for the sanity check.

I’ve been stable for the past 12 hours and I’ve been on the app at least a dozen times. I’m starting to think this may be related to another thread

On first blush they don’t seem related until further in the thread where folks are seeing weird stuff and pointing the finger at Wyze. Not sure if wyze is twisting knobs for the new beta update or some other reason but it seems to have quieted down.

Fingers crossed🤞

I have Android app version 3.8.0.b705 on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Every time I click on the app it opens for a split second and closes. I don’t even think it’s “opening” … the icon gets big like it wants to open but it doesn’t. I tried uninstalling and installing again, but that didn’t work. Help!

I’m having a similar problem on a Google Pixel 9.

Kicking out to home screen, still shows the startup splash screen running on the background but thats all. I’ll have to try those things to see if it helps.
