Something is not right here. The most recent beta app version is 3.3.0. Why’s is this one 3.2.8
EDIT: I installed 3.2.8 on both iPhone and iPad and I couldn’t stop laughing, not in a good way. There is no landscape view in the Monitoring. The one thing that @WyzeAndy is claiming to have been added to this beta is not working at all. I wonder who approves these releases? I wonder if the development team has started celebrating early for the Holiday Season so they are a bit hangover
This is not looking good on you Wyze!
Yes, I am on 3.3 as well, what’s up?
Perhaps, lack of accountability.
To all,
Be cautious!
Just updated to
Wyze crashes on opening. I see the welcome to new app and 2 seconds later the app crashes and I’m back to my android home page.
Have done usual nuking. Clear caches, restart, etc. Getting ready to leave beta so I can get the production release, see if I’m OK, then rejoin beta.
I got it to work. I had to delete it and then reinstall it. Otherwise it crashes as you stated.
Thank u, thank u. That worked.
To all,
Found this in Accounts > Wyze Intelligence.
Heading to web site to see the details.
Edit: Can’t find it on the web site. Maybe to early.
What does it do? I thought I already had landscape in monitoring by clicking that button?
Trying that now.
Yep, remove and reinstall worked
On Android, I see it when I tap the screen-rotation icon, and it gives me the four-camera group in landscape. When I swipe left, I see another four-camera group view. Seems pretty slick.
I just confirmed this too… You can setup multiple, 4-camera per page, pages in the Monitoring tab. There is a button to go landscape. And then you can flick through your pages, 4 cameras at a time. Pretty slick.
Edit: I had to uninstall the app and reinstall to fix the crash issue as well.
Yeah, I dig it, and I didn’t experience any crashes, but I also just recently entered the Android β program, and so this update for me was a direct path from the previous latest production app.
What I was saying up above is that in Android phone, I thought we already had that feature with the button rotate. To me it’s not new or I remember wrongly or as .
What it appears to do on my Android tablet is if monitoring is chosen while in landscape, and then toggle button to landscape, it widens as expected to full landscape.
The app home view in landscape is forced I think.
But if I flip my tablet manually back to portrait, it resets to home when I flip back to landscape.
Both devices are Samsungs and I do have force landscape turned on.
My thoughts are the Samsung force landscape is perhaps, intervening and messing with my head.
I suspect that’s correct. I prefer stock or near-stock Android to Samsung’s variants, so my last routine use of a Samsung device was about 10 years ago. I say that because you mentioned seeing “app home view in landscape” and I have never seen that.
While the new landscape view for Monitoring is kinda cool, I can’t say that it’s substantially better than throwing cameras into a group and viewing the group in landscape. What I would expect from Monitoring in landscape view is that the scrubbing timeline would still be available, because that’s where I think this could be really useful, but that doesn’t appear to be the case currently. In fact, while watching the Monitoring tab in portrait view, I notice that if I swipe the timeline to any point in the past, then the device rotation icon for landscape disappears entirely. Apparently landscape view for the Monitoring tab functions only for live streaming. That’s disappointing.
Hopefully at some point they’ll come up with a timeline overlay for landscape view and/or maybe squeeze a vertically-scrolling timeline into the side so that scrubbing with Multi-Camera Timeline View plus landscape view will be possible and truly useful. As it stands, I’m not sure that using this new feature is any better than using camera groups.
Then there’s this:
They’re running out of time!
I kind of expect when I rotate my phone, capable apps should go to landscape without a button. The home view in landscape is forced.
Landscape is only really important on my tablet which is used almost exclusively in landscape. Forcing is handy there.
If not for mode & routines, I might be using other variants myself. And I’m kind of invested.
Force dark mode.
Is no one going to address the question of why this beta version is a lower number than 3.3 that we are testing now?
Since I am on 3.3, I don’t want to go backwards.
Does this one include all the fixes that 3.3 has as well as more, or is it a different branch of beta testing?
In this Wyze Android beta app 3.2.8.b603, both issues which I noted in the Wyze Android stable app 3.2.6.592 thread are still not fixed
Wyze Android beta app 3.3.0.b596 is sort of fixed the Cam V3 manual record issue as mentioned below. PNG image is still shown in the Gallery, but at least you could see the video clip now without force closing the Gallery app to refresh.
This worked for me to get it to stop crashing. Thanks.
That is not what I am talking about. When in landscape mode like this:
…when I select monitoring tab I get this, portrait mode not landscape
after clicking the rotate button, I get this, which is worst than the group view and takes an extra click to get here. Not slick at all
then when I click Home/back button takes me to this, WTF! Now I have to pick up the tablet and flip-flop. No progress at all in this beta
