@WyzeJasonJ I’m new here but also having this problem. I did discover something that may or may not help you track down the cause. When the playback from SD card pauses, if you open and close the options menu twice, the playback will resume.

Not a whole lot of updates yet but we have some firmware right around the corner to resolve or improve some of these issues, so let’s get to it. Here is our Fix-It Friday update:

Forum - Users are not able to connect to Live Stream if they are not on the same local network as the camera

The engineers are still looking for the root cause of this, I will update you when I learn more.

Core - Sometimes Event Videos are not clickable, you will need to click on the one above or below it and then swipe to it

We think we have found the cause of this and are working on a solution.

Reddit - When clicking on microSD from the Event Tab it says there is no microSD installed

The engineers are looking into this, but we are still looking for some more logs. Can you submit a log and let me know the log number?

In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > Submit a Log. Select your device from the dropdown menu. Then fill in the description box with the date, time, and time zone of the most recent time you noticed this issue and a description of what’s happening. Make sure the Send Logs option is selected and then submit your log. When you have the log number, please post it and tag me so I can get it to the right folks.

Bonus - Users are unable to switch cameras from Cam Plus to Cam Plus Lite

We are looking into these reports and could use some app logs to help us. Please submit a log and let me know the log number.

Forum - Wyze Cam Outdoor has a forced cooldown period of 1-minute even with Cam Plus and “No Cooldown” setting enabled

This issue is still being investigated. If you have sent in a log and have not given me the log number, please post it here. If you have not sent one in, please send in a log following the instructions below.

We made some cloud changes that seemed to resolve this for some of you. I am aware there are some still experiencing issues. We have found a possible solution for this and are working to get it in an upcoming firmware release.

Forum - Wyze Cam Pan v3 will not reconnect after it loses the connection

We are still looking into the information you have provided; I will pass along an update when I know more.

Reddit - Wyze Cam Pan v3 does not return to set home position

We released a beta that is a step towards fixing the waypoint drift issue. This beta will not change the current experience but will give us some data needed to get to that point. Thank you for your patience.

Reddit - Event playback in the app is stuttering

We are still looking into this, and I will update when I have more.

Reddit - No audio playback on Wyze Cam v3 when connected to Wyze Cam Floodlight accessory

We have a firmware release right around the corner that should address this issue.

The event playback in the app stutter situation is really weird. It runs really smooth on my iPad 7th gen, but it stutters on my Android Samsung S20 FE phone. I haven’t had a chance to check on a iPhone. It runs really smooth on the Web Event via Wyze’s website too.

I suspect it could be an app issue.

Does Hardware Decoder setting in the Android Wyze App make a difference?

I’m afraid not. Enabling Hardware Decoder makes no difference on my Android phone. It is strange though as the stutter doesn’t happen to every camera and nor does it happen to every event. It’s like random lol.

I just checked my iPhone and it was playing smoothly as well on the same event playback.

On my Android phone, I downloaded the same event and it played back smoothly too when I used my own app to play the video.

@WyzeJasonJ I’ve been having this issue for months now, especially with the newer batches of Cam V3’s. Here are a few logs from various cameras: 1388008, 1388515, 1388518, 1388514. One of these logs is from a coworker’s account who I recently recommended these cameras too and is unfortunately having the same issues right away. The most recent time of this happening is now, 04/23/2024 at 9:30am PST. We’re looking forward to an update. Thank you!

Can you tell me exactly what firmware your camera is using and what app version you are using? This happened a while back and we fixed it.

The stuttering on event playback seems to be an Android phenomena (but not everyone has this problem).
For some, if you enable “Record Sound” under advanced settings on the V3 or V3 Pro cameras, the next event recorded plays smoothly. If you turn OFF “record sound” under advanced settings, the stuttering returns.

Some folks live in states that claim it is illegal to record audio without expressed permission !

The solution I have been using for months now is to play back videos at 4x speed, but you must have Cam+ to do that.
This problem has been on the last couple of Fix-it Friday threads, but no solution has been issued yet. They have alluded to frames being dropped when the video plays back via event playback.
When you download the video event, it always plays back smoothly, just like you said.
Hopefully they can get this fixed soon.

Still getting the Error When clicking on microSD from the Event Tab it says there is no microSD installed

I thought I would submit another Log since this is still happening on IOS App version 2.50.5.4.

Yes I did see it, that is why I removed the part about it going away. I am just trying to find more that are experiencing it to find out if it is still widespread or just a few devices.

Ok thank you. Im surprised more are not experiencing this. There is a separate thread on this where it affected others but someone mentioned this topic here so I chimed in here.

I am in need of direction here.
I have 2 newly purchased V3 cams experiencing this problem. My older cams do not have this problem. I need to know that if I order another will it have this issue also. Please advise ASAP as I seriously need to move forward.
I did submit a log and copied WyzrJasonJ…

@WyzeJasonJ Can you please advise about this SD card playback issue? My return period is running out, and I want to have a better idea if this is hardware related or software… I’m leaning towards hardware since all the other functioning cameras are on the same firmware and app version…

As you no don’t have noticed I am extremely interested in a response to this question as well. Like you, I’m trying very hard to get an answer.

Also like you, time is running out for me to return my 2 cams as well while waiting for a fix to come through. And who knows if or when that will be.
