I’ll wait a few days and then try one of the V4 cams.

I received this update the same day it was released. I have been waiting 7 weeks for the latest v3 firmware. Granted that was advertised as a gradual rollout over a few weeks. However, it has been seven weeks and seven is far more than a few.

Ok I updated the firmware a few minutes ago on one V4 and the cam didn’t :boom:
I will test it for the rest of the day and tonight and see how it goes. I updated it because it is still in the 30 day return window.

July Firmware for the V3 Pro still not here.

V4 update went OK for me.
Today I received the V3 firmware for all 9 of my V3 cameras. Hopefully my stuttering playback from Cam+ Unlimited is in the past now!
I have had the V3 Pro firmware for a while now (I think around 7/31 or 8/1).
The video playback from Cam+ Unlimited on the V3 Pro cameras (I have 3) is smooth.

Quick observation. I had my V4 configured to activate the spotlight when a person is detected. After applying the update today, that behavior no longer works. I have gone into the camera settings, turned off the spotlight activation and turned it back on, restarted the camera, etc, the light will no longer activate on a person detection despite the setting being on for the camera in the app. I can manually turn the spotlight on.

I don’t like using the spotlight in the location my cam is at but I will test it out later today. It did work prior to the firmware up date when I had it set for Person and Pet.

@jzindle I tested the V4 spotlight last night with the .0648 firmware and it does work for person and pet. I am using iOS app 2.50.9

MFP, doesn’t seem to be phased by the spotlight

Thanks for testing it.

I went back and read the release notes for this update and noticed this: “Added environment brightness judgment for the spotlight”. Makes me wonder if my camera now thinks its bright enough already and skips activating the light. My camera is on my front porch on a lighted city street. I don’t immediately notice any settings in the app to influence this “brightness judgment” sensitivity.

What I think I will do in the interim is set up an automation which triggers the spotlight for 1 minute when a person is detected. Not sure if the “brightness judgment” logic will override this, but I’ll test it shortly when I go out. My intent for activating the spotlight, regardless of ambient light conditions, is to underscore to anyone coming up my front porch steps that they are being recorded. I also have the camera play the wyze alert.

I have no idea what that is either but I do know the spotlight doesn’t work with motion detection when it is light outdoors, I tried that yesterday about 10:00 AM after setting a custom time from 9-11 AM. Last night I just set it from Sunset to Sunrise.

You should be ashamed of yourself, the :cow2: looking cat in the video is not MFP.
This is before I set the cam spotlight to come on with pet detection.

What can I say, they all look the same to me. Just like Wyze AI, tagging everything as Pet

Kind of looks like person

People can fly with their wings?
The video wouldn’t load here, the forum only likes :raccoon: videos from the V4 I guess. I’ll try a different method.

I dub him Moomoo
:cow2:

Or Hal Holstein .
