Since they changed the favorites page where you can turn off live streaming and I can turn my cameras on and off from that page I finally updated my iPhone from 2.50.9 to the 3.2 app with my fingers crossed. It seems to be working ok.
Glad to read thatās working out for you so far. Iāve been reconsidering the switch recently, too, especially since my tablet (running Android Go, so the OS is 32-bit and will be stuck with the v2.5x app indefinitely) will continue operating () with the older app.
That was my biggest gripe with the new app. It works as expected now, except the obvious landscape and dark mode.
This is the worst update ever! So now I have extra steps to delete recorded events, because the delete button is hidden away in the More section. This takes me even longer than before. And when I delete a recorded event, it goes right to the next one, which I donāt want. The app has gotten way too busy, not sure what you guys were thinking with this. And yes, the audio off by default is not good. It should just stay at whatever it was last set to by the user.
Why donāt you just use the pencil on the events page and go down the list and choose the videos you want to delete and hit the delete button to make the chosen ones go away.
Ever? So the last is not that bad?
Because I need to review them first before deleting them.
Seems like each update sets a new low.
Notifications canāt be parsed by macrodroid anymore. Iāve had the issue on 3 different android devices.
I am saying āparsedā because the macrodroid macro is triggered and i can retrieve the notification timestamp but not the title or message.

I found an older version on APKPure 3.1.5.569 and it is working properly again.
Thank you for your reply. With that said, is it not obvious that flipping the bit on audio during event playback simply upset all of the people that were not complaining when audio would play during initial event playback? Iām willing to place a LARGE wager that there were FAR more people not complaining than the number that were complaining.
For those that were complaining about audio playing when first opening an eventā¦I challenge them to name a single application that does not default to audio on when playing a video. If you donāt want sound coming out of your phone or device, there are a lot of ways to go about that other than requesting application development teams make changes to their products.
Why WYZE decided it would be a good idea to be the first application (that I am aware of) to ever do so is well beyond my understanding and goes to show how out of touch the development team at WYZE is. Just because someone or several people ask for something does not mean you should accommodate. With major changes like this, why not let the forum community vote on it? WHAT, leverage our user base to help guide developmentā¦imagine that!
Like many, I continue to shake my head with each new application release. It is what it is and definitely PAR for the WYZE course. A bit of common sense would go a long way!
āA bit of common sense would go a long way!ā
Exactly!
You point out some good logic.
I think itās okay for them to listen to feedback like others were giving them about this, but they should have implemented it in the form of a setting toggle that those people could manually change if they wanted it that way rather than implement the change globally with no way to switch it back.
I hope they do something because I really do not like The audio being off by default
Like why try to compete in the closed ecosystem environment with another copy of a mediocre automation concept. I remember the open environment and the free forever days with local camera access. Everybody wanted a wyze camera.
Matter is coming, open ai for fast image video analysis, good luck wyze. My 2c
I really like the 3.2.x UI.
A friend just gave me some motion detectors and now, after I use them I noticed when the motion detector is activated, it doesnāt change in color or have a colored circle around it. Is this by design or did I not enable something to get some indicator to react?
These are the Wyze Motion Sensors v2 that use the bridge in the back of a v2 Camera.
Itās been a long time since I used sensors. Thanks in advanceā¦
Can you tell me more about what you mean with this?
Are you talking about how the camera streams will be able to run through things like Frigate or Scrypted? Or do you mean that Matter should allow cameras to pass on Local/Edge AI detections taking place on the camera unit itself and pass that on to any other platform?
Do you have any sources I can read about what is coming up with the Matter libraries?
My biggest concern with Matter is that it is still technically a subscription model in a way, but it is 1 step removed in that the companies are required to pay ongoing yearly membership and per-device model subscription fees forever or lose their Matter license, which could potentially cause our Matter devices to basically be bricked as soon as any company cancels their āsubscriptionā for that device when it stops being profitable because new models came out instead. That is one thing I really donāt like about Matter. I wish it was ACTUALLY opensource and not pseudo-opensourced but actually pay to play licenced subscriptions 1 step removed.
Still, I think itās a great step in the right direction to start removing the advantage of closed ecosystems and put pressure on everyone to open up with better interoperability, security and connectivity, so I am extremely interested in it. I just donāt know a whole lot about what theyāve actually decided/agreed on so far with the Camera libraries since itās not officially released/finalized yet. Do you know anything about the tentative beta, etc that makes you say some of the above about getting open ai?
Thanks for the logical examples. I decided I would go post about this in the thread for tomorrowās AMA event, incorporating the points you made into my explanation for why the question matters. If you use Reddit, feel free to upvote the question to help show Wyze that it is not an isolated request. I posted it here:
This is what I wrote on behalf of people who agree this needs to be changed back:
This happened with one of the 3.1 updates also, not sure if the symptoms were exactly the same, for that one I uninstalled and reinstalled the app which fixed it, this time I noticed that it was just a setting in the android settings that toggled off.
All notifications stopped after the 3.2 update happened this morning. Events still logged. When looking in Android 14ās settings under notifications for wyze, had to drill into the āWyzenotificationā one and within that, there is a toggle for āpop up on screenā that was toggled off. So if your notifications have stopped working, check there.
Found an issue today with the 3.2.0 (580) app.
Today I noticed the app stated my shared cam was down. When I selected the reported down cam, it works fine.
If I take a log from a perfectly working cam, would the log shows issues with the app?

This issue with event tags missing from the Cam OG microSD recording timeline that was noted in the v3.1.5 announcement topic apparently persists into the v3.2 app:
