V3 Cam - Grey out PLAYBACK not working (2024-02-25)

I bought 2 v3 cam and set them up last night. Everything went will but when I went into the event tab and picked an event video. The playback button is grey out. I turned my iphone to landscape and the playback button is working. However, when I press the playback button, it tells me the “MircoSD card not found”. But this is strange, I have a 128gb sd card in both camera. I even tried a 32gb card and it still the grey out playback. Both the new v3 cam is not on Cam Plus. Will this be fix anytime soon? Thanks

If you go to the “View Playback” at the bottom of the camera page, does that show uSD card recordings? Also, do you have uSD card recording enabled, and if so, Continuous recording or Events only?

Yes it does show me the uSD card reading by using the “View Playback”. I have the uSD card recording enabled with continuous recording.

Its weird that on my v2 cam and having all the same setting the “playback” works…

I have a similar issue. 5 v3 cameras had already been added to the app and all able to view playback from the sd cards. I took one offline for a while and in the interim updated the app & firmware of the remaining 4 to the latest(as of today). When I tried connecting the offline camera it would not connect AND after deleting could not re-add. So I flashed via SD card to the latest firmware and it did finally connect, except NOW the playback button is greyed out. What the h3LL???

I have the same issue:

The Playback icon is greyed out when viewing any events in the event section using new v3 black camera (purchased in Jan, 2024). Using latest firmware version 4.36.11.8391 with Cam Unlimited and a 128 GB Sandisk MicroSD card (also tried 2 others).

Recorded video playback works fine when using the “view playback” button in camera’s live view (available in home section).

No errors are reported on my android app other than the greyed out playback button. When I check events on my Ipad (using IOS version of app), I get an error that “MicroSD Card not found. You will need a MicroSD card to view locally stored video”.

I have tried 3 known good MicroSD cards, formatted them and rebooted camera and issue still persists. This issue only affects my new V3 black camera purchased in Jan 2024. All of my 5 other V3 cameras work fine.

I was a big fan of Wyzecam, but I am getting sick and tired of submitting detailed troubleshooting steps for every new camera that I purchase and waiting for a solution (I have had different issues with at least 3 new cameras that required detailed troubleshooting on these forums). It seems like new issues are being introduced with each new firmware or app update.

I will return this camera to Amazon and try a new one. If that doesn’t work, I will be reporting my negative experience with this issue on my Amazon Canada review.

I had similar issues recently and the fix was to delete the app (in my case - from my iPad) and all data, then reinstall the app.

Would not have believed that was a fix - but turns out it was a miracle cure

I saw this on the March Fix-it Friday thread.

“Reddit - microSD playback button is grayed out on Event Viewer*** :floppy_disk:

We have located the root cause and are hoping to have the fix in the next app release.”

If you have not submitted a Log for the v3 Playback issue, please do so to help the Wyze Team.

I just tried this by deleting and reinstall the app. It still not working for me.

Please note, this issue I have is only for the v3 cam (black) and not the Wyze Cam Pan v3. Thanks

My post 4 posts above indicates Wyze has located the problem with the Pan v3. WyzeJasonJ would like us to submit a Log for other affected cameras (like the regular v3), post the Log number on this forum with WyzeJasonJ tagged on the posting.

Same problem, Android, play back greyed out when viewing an event.
V3 bought from Costco, setup in 2024.

I am now experiencing random wonkiness in the events tab on the other cameras. Tapping to view those events does nothing.

I just tried deleting the app, restarting my phone, and installing the app again. It didn’t fix the problem. When viewing an event, the playback button is still grayed out. (Log ID 1366178)

WyzeJasonJ would like the following info in your Log.

date, time, and time zone of the most recent time you noticed this issue and a description of what’s happening

This info was posted on other threads, but I wanted to make sure we are giving WyzeJasonJ all of the requested info so the Wyze Team can fix the bug.
