The Playback icon is greyed out when viewing any events in the event section using new v3 black camera (purchased in Jan, 2024). Using latest firmware version 4.36.11.8391 with Cam Unlimited and a 128 GB Sandisk MicroSD card (also tried 2 others).
Recorded video playback works fine when using the “view playback” button in camera’s live view (available in home section).
No errors are reported on my android app other than the greyed out playback button. When I check events on my Ipad (using IOS version of app), I get an error that “MicroSD Card not found. You will need a MicroSD card to view locally stored video”
I have tried 3 known good MicroSD cards, formatted them and rebooted camera and issue still persists. This issue only affects my new V3 black camera purchased in Jan 2024. All of my 5 other V3 cameras work fine.
I was a big fan of Wyzecam, but I am getting sick and tired of submitting detailed troubleshooting steps for every new camera that I purchase and waiting for a solution (I have had different issues with at least 3 new cameras that required detailed troubleshooting on these forums). It seems like new issues are being introduced with each new firmware or app update
I will return this camera to Amazon and try a new one. If that doesn’t work, I will be reporting my negative experience with this issue on my Amazon Canada review.
delete the app and all data, reinstall the app. This fixed a lot of similar issues for me recently related to SD card playback and app UI weirdness with only certain new cameras.
I also had been through several SD cards trying to fix and was convinced the cam was bad, but the app delete/reinstall fixed the issue
I have tried all the tips suggested to get it to reset and still persist. I was curious and went and installed some new SD cards and two other cameras that didn’t have any installed they’re all having the same issue. Any older ones that were already connected with SD cards is working fine in the events notifications.
This is what I get on iOS from a new V3 I installed yesterday. It will playback from SD just fine from live view but when I try to use SD playback from the events page I get this: Log # 1347699/ Wyze Ticket 3731304
I installed a different new V3 two weeks ago and using the SD playback from events page works just fine.
I have the exact same problem. and my camera are older. Wyze has done something and has not fixed it. Also if you have cam plus. it will just show no events even if someone was standing in front of the camera.
I have Cam Plus events. The V3 that I show above is one of five V3 cams and it is the only one with the playback issue. It has the same firmware as all the other V3 cams also 4.36.11.8391.
I just bought a brand new v3 camera and it has the exact same issue as the first one. I’m returning both cameras to Amazon and leaving a negative review with details of this problem until it is resolved.
First reply I got from support was the usual.
Update firmware and app
Clear cache/log out and log in of app
Format the SD
Factory reset the cam. Restart camera
I did all of the above before I sent a log and got a ticket, they said do it again.
Second response was they will work on it, no timeline of when it will be corrected.
Sad situation. I think I will hold off on buying new cams til this issue has been resolved. I wonder if Amazon will tighten their return policy if too many Wyse cams get easily returned?
I am not returning my newest recent V3 because it still records continuous to the SD and will playback the SD from Live View. I am not happy that the newest of my five V3 cams has the issue of no playback from the events page and the other four have no issues at all. I agree that something is not correct. The newest cam had May 2022 firmware so I had to update 4 times. On the V3 I got and installed about two weeks ago I had to update the firmware six times to get it up to .8391 and that camera has no issues at all. Something is FUBAR.
Same issue here: My Wyze C3BK cam (which was a gift) has one of their 128GB microSDXC cards in it. It set up fine, it’s connected to the network and to the iPhone app. It is recording continuous and reporting Events. However, when I go to watch events, the “playback” button is grayed out. I have tried everything on the internet to remedy this (reformatting the card, updating firmware, ejecting and reinstalling the card, disconnecting and reinstalling the device, and nothing seems to remedy. No, I’m not going to purchase a subscription package in order to get this feature to work (which is what many say is the solution). Anybody hear of something else I can try before tossing it in the garbage? Too bad because it seemed like an okay product.
Same here with the “greyed out” playback button when viewing events. I bought a 4-pack of V3 cameras at Costco. For some strange reason, one of the four started working properly. The other three still have the “greyed out” playback button. I cannot explain why one is working and others are not.
I have cam plus unlimited on eleven cameras and I can playback the SD card from all of them from the events page except the newest one, a V3 that I just installed. My playback icon is not grayed out, I get a pop up that says Micro SD card not found but I can playback the SD from live view all day long if I want to. So having to get Cam plus is not a requirement and will not fix anything with the SD.
I am using iOS devices, iPad and iPhone.
