Brand new camera, pulled sd card from the camera I was replacing and plugged it in. Formatted card. New camera appears to record video but when I tap on events , the playback tab at bottom is grayed out. Someone suggested the following : Remove SD card, format in windows pc using disk management tool, delete all volumes and format in exFAT. Did not work for me. So, I sent camera back to Amazon for a new one. Same issue!!! Come on Wyze. I just did the same thing last summer and upgraded to the Can Pan v3 using old sd card and it works fine. Wyze has done something to this new camera’s software.
Is the new Cam Pan V3 set up to record to SD? Simply transferring the old SD card won’t start SD recording.
Yes

Could you post some screen shots… not sure what you mean by “tap on events”. is that the area you swipe up to see “recent events”, and there aren’t any? Are you on “Continuous” or “Events Only”?
Wanted to hop on here because OP explained the exact same issue that I’m facing. I am on the basic plan with SD cards in all my cameras: Two Wyze Cam V3 and two Wyze Cam Pan V3. I purchased the 2nd Cam Pan V3 a week ago and it is the only one that will not give me event playback.
OP and I are going into the Events tab to find our event snapshots.
Here is what my 1st Cam Pan V3 shows when I tap on an event captured by it. Tapping Playback jumps me to the time of the event and starts playing the recorded footage
This is not the case with my newer Cam Pan V3. 100% of the events detected since purchase have the playback button greyed out. (Can’t attach photo due to forum limitations.)
Just need to reiterate: even though I’m on the basic plan, the Playback button is available for every cam (and works flawlessly) except for the one I purchased a week ago.
Join the crowd of members who can not view via playback from events page with or without Cam Plus. I have this issue with a new V3 installed 2 days ago.
I just realized the Wyze support chat has this issue as one of the automated options. Didn’t realize this was affecting everyone. It was so inconsistent for me, that I assumed the error was on my part
So you’re saying that support knows about this issue but they have no fix? Wow so they’ve known this for months did they ever come up with a fix?
NO !
Last information from 13 May.
When clicking on microSD from the Event Tab it says there is no microSD installed
The engineers are looking into the logs that have been submitted so far, but we could still use some more. Can you submit a log and let me know the log number?
In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > Submit a Log. Select your device from the dropdown menu. Then fill in the description box with the date, time, and time zone of the most recent time you noticed this issue and a description of what’s happening. Make sure the Send Logs option is selected and then submit your log. When you have the log number, please post it and tag me so I can get it to the right folks.
Do you know if this greyed-out playback button is an issue on the new V4?
Not on my V4. I haven’t seen any post yet that said it was an issue.
My V4 plays back from the 256GB SD card from the events page and live view also without any issues.
I just bought 12 (yes twelve) refurbished Cam V3 and they all can NOT go from Events to Playback. If you try it, all of them it say “MicroSD Card Not Found.” The interesting thing is I also re-activate a Cam V2 that I found in my storage, and it also has the exact same problem. That proves it’s is NOT the camera, it’s when you re-activated the camera. Did anybody figure out a fix?
SOLUTION: I managed to resolve the issue with all my cameras using the following steps:
-
In Cam Plus Lite, disable the camera experiencing the issue by unchecking it.
-
Record any Event with the affected camera.
-
Attempt to play back an Event and access the “Playback” feature. The issue will still persist.
-
Reboot the camera.
-
Try playing back an Event again and access “Playback.” This time, it should successfully read the memory card.
-
Reactivate Cam Plus Lite for the camera. The issue should now be fixed.
Welcome to the Forum, @stanlam!
I’m glad you found something that works for your Cam v3s, but Cam Plus Lite is not supported on Cam Pan v3 (the subject of this topic, according to its tags). According to the most recent Fix-It Friday update, Wyze is still tracking this issue, and I believe they’ll have to supply the ultimate fix.
I like your detailed instructions, too! I genuinely hope that your solution helps others with Cam Plus Lite subscriptions experiencing this issue on Cam v3s.
