Update on this. The button is no longer greyed out, but when pressing it, it reports no SD card installed when there is. I can view the constant recording I have set up.
Where are bugs reported since they no longer seem to visit the forum anymore?
I’m not sure who you mean by “they”, because it’s been my experience that some Wyze employees do frequent the Forum and address user issues; however, much of the support provided here is user-to-user via volunteers. Opening a ticket with Support is an option, but my personal experience with this has been less than satisfactory.
Having said that, at least part of the issue you’re describing is known (as you’ve indicated by mentioning other posts):
I hadn’t encountered this much myself, because I rarely use the Events tab, but now I see that it’s affecting one of my Cam Pan v3s, so I guess it’s time for me to submit a log to @WyzeJasonJ. (On the Cam Pan v3 that actually does navigate to the SD Card playback when I tap the Playback icon for that camera from the Events module, the app loads the microSD card timeline for that camera but temporarily overlays a “Failed to load from local storage.” message on the viewer. That message disappears after a second or two, and then event playback begins. It’s like the app is telling me that there’s an error, and then the error resolves spontaneously, which is weird and not something that should be happening, I don’t think. )
I’m having a similar issue to the playback button grayed out on MicroSD card. My problem is that I get a “Cannot load local media” type error whenever I try to view events or recordings. It started about a month ago, and I’ve swapped the MicroSD card twice to try and fix it. The new card will work for a couple of hours, then starts displaying the error again. This is only occurring on my Pan v3 camera and not my other cameras.
I just noticed that the Support site has changed. It’s got a new look, a new browser favicon, and a “Current Issues” button below the search box. Clicking that presents a few choices, “Playback button is grayed out” among them:
Clicking that option gives a boilerplate robot response.
Notwithstanding the disappointing “funtional” [sic] typo, even though the bot doesn’t offer an actual solution to the problem, I appreciate the public-facing acknowledgement that this (among others) is a known issue.
If someone at Wyze Support sees this and decides to fix the typo, then perhaps that person could also update the robot’s response to instruct users to submit logs per @WyzeJasonJ’s instructions and Wyze Support’s own article:
