Error (code 3001)!

This week’s update is posted:

Are we being FORCED into purchasing cam plus in order to get video now?
Who can afford 19.99 per camera with no additional services. It would be better to subscribe to a security service that provide cameras and monitoring.

I subscribed to their 99 camera plan for 9.99 a month, which still bugs me because I started with Wyze because no subscription was required.

That is great to know. I also started with the no pay plan. I will check out the 99 camera plan if it I still available.

THANKS

Most welcome.

AFAIK if you stick with the V3 you don’t need to pay for recording the 12 seconds, anything newer and you do. (I could be wrong)
I got 2 V3’ a few months ago and I get the 12 second recording and (so far) they haven’t gotten the 3001 error.

I will. Thanks.

The v3 camera already has the “firmware fix” for the error since the last 6 months.

While the 99 camera deal is great value if you have several cameras, I’d question the choice to invest anymore in Wyze when they seem to have very limited interest in fixing or improving any their products.

This solution was introduced in v3 6 months ago so could have been rolled out to the others but still no signs of it.

I appreciate Wyze is a tiny company with limited resources but they seem to have lost their way especially for camera development & forgotten what it was that made them stand out in the crowd in the first place.

I still want to know why my new V2 PAN cameras will not record to CamPlus they both just stopped working??

It’s sad to see that multiple threads from back in 2022 about this have not been fixed. I’m still getting error 3001 on my camera.

I agree! I don’t intend to spend another penny with Wyze for anything. I let as many people as I can know how they have handled this. Or the lack of attention they have given it.
Really, still begging us to get Cam Plus? There’s no need for Cam Plus with a memory card in the camera.
I’ll use what I have till they either stop working. Or Wyze makes Cam Plus mandatory. Then replace them with something that works like these did when they first came out…

It’s almost hard to believe. The only reason why I chose Wyze over the other five competitive cameras was the free cloud storage and push notifications. Now it’s totally useless with this error. It’s was working great until this. THERE SHOULD BE A WAY TO DO A FACTORY RESET TO GET IT HACK TO THE ORIGINAL STATE. Just like a cell phone or laptop. How hard is this to fix?? Just revert the update back to before this skht started!

My understanding is you will have to pay and it’s just free for a short time period. At least that’s what I read on the Amazon Q&As. What is also annoying is that I can’t use v3s with cam plus light. The whole reason I got the camera was for the FREE CLOUD STORAGE the offered. Just like other internet companies, they want to get the cloud noose around your neck for a regular revenue stream! :rage::angry:

That’s how they give themselves raises from us subscribers…

Apparently never.

I have my two V3’s on cam plus lite and haven’t had this error on them.

Some users report that they get the same error even with a paid subscription. At least for me it seems now that at least the error shows every single event recording. So at least it’s consistently USELESS.

Really? A Wyza representative said it’s not compatible with lite cam plus. Do you get the errors with the v3? I thought of getting one to see

My V3s are on cam plus lite. I’ve also never received the dreaded error on them either. My V2s are another story, they have errors constantly.

They misunderstood then, because it says V3 cams are supported on the Wyze website:

https://www.wyze.com/pages/cam-plus-lite

https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/4415330946075-Cam-Plus-Lite-FAQ

I’ve used Cam Plus Lite on my V3’s.

Unless you’re talking about the Wyze Cam Pan V3’s, those are not compatible with it., just regular Wyze Cam V3’s. That’s probably where the misunderstanding is.
