Wyze Firmware Updates - 2/2/2026

@WyzeJasonJ, this kind of simple, honest, responsive communication means more than you know. If Wyze support operated like this consistently, or even occasionally, it would change everything.

I’m setting up a camera with debug software to help EnTing isolate the issue.

To be completely transparent, and I’m sharing this in the hope you’ll escalate it and get it resolved. It’s honestly strange that I’m willing to help Wyze diagnose and fix a problem when the support I’ve repeatedly received has been beyond incredibly poor and deeply frustrating, not once, but every single time. There have been multiple times after receiving inaccurate, shoddy “support” where I was ready to throw out every Wyze device I own, switch platforms, and post a direct, fully honest review across social and Amazon. It’s consistently been some of the worst service I’ve experienced.

That’s why I genuinely appreciate you acknowledging this is a known issue and that it’s being worked on, instead of deflecting, denying, and sending me down hours of irrelevant troubleshooting that leads to obviously incorrect diagnoses and more wasted time.

Hi, where is the download link?

Found it in the thread, thank you.

Just sharing some experience

I have 2 Wyze Cam 3’s configured identically on 4.36.16.5654

I can report that RTSP works fine one of them using RTSP-Player on android ( GitHub - damianhoppe/RTSP-Player: A simple player of video streams, mainly intended for viewing from IP cameras. ). Interestingly, the other one does not. Viewing the stream just shows “reconnect”.

VLC and Tinycam do not work with the RTSP support on either camera. From what I can tell, that seems to be the norm.

The fact that it works differently on two identically configured cameras suggests that something random may be impacting the behavior. Hope this gives some hope to those not having any success with it.

I can add this much. Yes sometime after the latest firmware upgrade on the v3 cameras the problem with loading the live stream video started Gets stuck in the above error code and power cycles, reboots etc did nothing. I have also noticed this much. I am using the wyze app on my ios devices (iphone, ipad) and in the app settings..camera card style was set to comfortable with autoplay video live stream on. I changed this to condensed view with autoplay video live stream off just to try it and it has worked without failing any cameras. All cameras load the video feed without issue as before some of my other cameras were having problems, errors loading the live feed. Seems to be possibly an issue with app/ios software integration.

I did also try to view my cameras in a web browser and that seems to work fine as well’

Hope this helps

Adding my experience here. I’ve got the Wyze app running on a couple of iOS devices, an Android device and Frigate. I also have the camera configured in Tiny Cam.

After making the mistake of updating the firmware on my PanV3.

The only place I can view the stream of my camera is on the Android device. As often as I have had a miserable experience updating Wyze firmwares, you’d think I’d have learned my lesson, but the lure of having RTSP again drew me in like a moth to the flame.
Here are some findings from troubleshooting my frigate deployment - bridge/RTSP troubleshooting.

  • Reachability confirmed: The bridge node and Frigate pod have line-of-sight to x.x.x.x:322/554.

  • TLS Handshake Success: I verified that port 322/554 is an RTSPS server with a valid Wyze Labs self-signed certificate.

  • RTSP Ingestion Failure: Despite successful handshakes, go2rtc and ffmpeg (with -ssl_verify 0) receive a 404 Not Found or connection reset when requesting /stream0.

  • Protocol Error: IOTC_ER_TIMEOUT (-13). This means the bridge is sending the “knock” but the camera isn’t answering the door.

To add to the frustration, I cannot get the camera to go into manual firmware update mode. I never get the purple light, so rollback is not an option for me.

Like others, I have been on-board with Wyze from the very early days and have grown tired of the hassle with these cams and how closed they’ve become and I can’t see continuing to bring new devices into my environment with this level of performance.

Hope this gets fixed soon. I’ve got better things to do with my time.

I have an android and that’s the only place I view my cameras from and can’t view any of them since the update and can’t access anything on the sd card. But get notifications. I’ve sent the person from wyze that was asking people to send him our information he asked for about this issue. I did. Today I called wyze. They had to call me back because they didn’t know what to tell me. Then I got an email from advanced department and they just told me to unplug them and plug them back in and restart them. Like I haven’t already done that 10 times.i don’t understand why wyze always does this.they screw something up then gloat all their customers.

I posted on Feb 8 about my 4 Pan Cam v2 live view connect problem similar to others with other Pan Cam versions having problems after this firmware update. Is Wyze going to have an update out soon to fix the problem? Is the problem caused by the firmware or also the Wyze app?

Maybe Wyze can re-release the previous working version and prompt for an update in the Wyze app so that it can re-install the previous version of the firmware without having to use an SD card re-flash?

I have not heard much of an issue surrounding a Cam Pan v2 connection issue. I will ask the team to look into it. As fas as the Cam v3 issue we are still looking into it and will release a fix once we have one.

Having the same issue with V3 within hours of bringing two cameras home, looks like they have to go back to the store, it’s a shame I can’t return them in a working state.

You should definitely close this beta program immediately, please also take down your page for RSTP support as that’s the version that left both cameras saying “connection error -36”

…okay one of the two just updated to 4.50.16.6114 which fixed it.

With the release of PanCamV3 beta firmware 4.50.16.6242 my cam is now working fine. No longer have issues getting it to quickly get thru connecting securely and showing me live view on the app. The SD Card is also working fine. Thank you!!

Any update on this? It’s been nearly 6 weeks.

I did see an update available for 4.36.16.6114 (March 23, 2026), which is > 5654, but the description of 5654 has been deleted.

I updated my garage-door-equipped V3, and there is an RTSP option in the Advanced settings, but I can’t seem to get properly past the Turn On Secure RTSP (RTSPS)? dialog:

If I click Turn Off RTSPS, I get a Security Warning with a radio button to accept, but there’s no Ok button, or at least it’s off the bottom of the screen, and I can’t scroll:

If I leave RTSPS on, it accepts my inputs, and allegedly sets things up:

but pasting that URL with user:pass into VLC fails to get any video. Blue Iris also fails to get any video.

rtsps://anonymous:@192.168.1.229:322/stream0

I don’t use Blue Iris, but I have not been able to get VLC to connect via RTSPS to Cam Pan v3, and the 3rd Party Software Compatibility table in the RTSP Testing Instructions indicates that this is not supported. RTSP should work if you can get your Cam switched to that mode, however, and that has been my experience.

That seems like an app problem, so I’d be inclined to submit a log and then open a Support ticket with Wyze referencing that Log ID. I’d also post the Log ID, a description of this buggy behavior, and relevant screenshots to whichever Wyze News app announcement topic pertains to the specific app version you’re using. I don’t use iOS, but on Android this is what I see, and I imagine you should be seeing something similar:

In the meantime, if you have an Android device running a current Wyze app or a different iOS device with the app, then you could try that to see if you can disable RTSPS.

I have a couple Wyze Cams that have updated firmware and RTSP works. I have 2 Wyze Cam v3 Pros that have firmware 4.58.16.6114 which is higher than the .5654 version, and there is no RTSP option. Was that functionality rolled back?

Welcome to the Forum, @JasonRu!

The firmware you have was announced in a newer topic:

No. As far as I’m aware, the only Wyze Cams that have had RTSP compatibility released into the production firmware channel are Cam v3 and Cam Pan v3. We’re expecting to see it available for Cam v4 and others at some point, but release dates have not yet been publicly announced.

I happened to see this new topic and remembered your issue with this. Maybe a solution for you is there:

Thanks. Changing my default text size did enable me to get through that screen, but it still doesn’t enable RTSP on my v3 Cam with garage door opener. Whether I have it set for rtsps or rtsp, I still can’t get any video in VLC or BlueIris.

Any updates from the dev team on a new version?

I’m unaware of anything in addition to what’s been posted publicly here.

Have you checked any of the topics where RTSP with Blue Iris has been discussed? I don’t use Blue Iris, but I would expect confirming the functioning stream with VLC (using RTSP and not RTSPS) to be a useful initial step in getting that working. You can try searching something like in:first "Blue Iris" RTSP (:backhand_index_pointing_left: clickable link) or try other search combinations to find those and read how others have worked through the problem, including some screenshots for Blue Iris configuration.

That doesn’t make any sense. This thread is about a firmware update to enable RTSP natively, in the mainline firmware, without requiring the docker bridge or other weird hacks. That firmware update was pulled due to issues acknowledged by a Wyze dev, and we’re waiting for an update on when the fixed firmware will be re-issued.
