4.36.16.5654 seems to have broken the wyze-bridge connection with Wyze Cam V3. I have this operating remotely so I don’t have good access to debugging. Appears OK in the Wyze app.
Wyzebridge will only work if you roll the firmware back to mid 2025 versions. I am currently running v3’s native RTSP streams, but I could not get the v3 pan’s streams to stay consistent without significant artifacts or/and intermittent connectivity. Hopefully the next firmware updates could alleviate some issues.
I powered off all my Wyze cameras and waited for 30 minutes. Powered them back on. The problem persisted. The firmware updated messed up everything! What a bunch of #R@#%!!! working at Wyze software deparment!
Same issues, Having to manually go around to a dozen cameras, some in really hard to get to spots outside my house. I am having to flash them all back to the previous version. Wyze cam v3
So irritated.
Yes, absolutely broken. Most cameras never connect, sit at step one or 3 dots bounce. Super frustrating. How is this not caught before GA? Testing scripts? Peer reviews? Release planning? Come on Wyze, not too wise.
@WyzeJasonJ I upgraded about 10 V3’s from 4.36.14.3497 to 4.36.16.5654. The cameras on the .3496 firmware continue to work as expected. However, the newly updated cameras on .5654 now have an extremely difficult time connecting, or never connect. They get stuck connecting on step one or the three dots bounce nonstop and never connect. It’s extremely frustrating as I’m paying for cameras and a plan that I’m not getting functionality from. And, it’s jeopardizing my property and livelihood not having functioning cameras. This is not acceptable. Please advise when this will be fixed.
My v3 won’t work now either. I can’t connect live, I can’t view any events on the sd card. It’s just a frozen screen for everything. It’s been like this for over a week.
I’ve contacted Wyze support by phone and email and received the same deeply frustrating experience I always get. Calls route to offshore support reading from scripts and running the same basic troubleshooting as always, none of which has anything to do with the actual problem. This is not a camera issue. It’s firmware.
Multiple cameras were working perfectly. The moment the new firmware was applied, connectivity broke across all updated cameras. Cameras that did not receive the update still work fine. This is basic troubleshooting 101: what changed? Firmware. When did it happen? Immediately after the firmware update. Can the issue be recreated? Yes, simply update another camera and it fails the same way. I still went through all the scripted steps requested by level one support, app checks, reboots, settings, connectivity, even though none apply when firmware is the cause. Nothing changed, because the firmware broke functionality.
Email support then replied: “Sorry you’re having a problem with a camera. We don’t have any in stock and aren’t getting more. If it’s under warranty we can try to refund your money.” That response makes no sense. This isn’t one camera. It’s a dozen that failed immediately after the firmware update. How is replacing a camera going to help with a dozen cameras that don’t work following a firmware update?
Now support wants to close the ticket because they say they’ve done the basic troubleshooting on “a camera” and since it didn’t work, I need a new camera. No. This is a firmware issue that is affecting DOZENS of cameras that were working fine until immediately after the firmware update. And, there are posts here and elsewhere of people reporting the same issue.
Level one offshore support is the face of the company and honestly, you couldn’t choose a worse front line for customer trust. They instantly damage it.
All I’m asking for is honesty and transparency. Confirm this is a known firmware issue. Confirm it’s being worked on. Provide an estimated fix timeline. @WyzeJasonJ I noticed you haven’t responded, WILL YOU PLEASE ADDRESS THIS OR HAVE SOMEONE RESPOND WITH ANSWERS?
I’m a known product and services reviewer whose posts receive about 1.7 million views annually. I haven’t publicly posted about this ongoing, consistently frustrating customer service pattern because I’ve been a long time supported and wanted to give Wyze time to fix this ongoing support issue, but it’s not changing. I’m at the point where I can’t keep holding my tongue. I’m crafting an honest review with examples and screenshots.
Wyze didn’t used to operate like this. I’ve purchased, supported, and recommended Wyze products to hundreds of people over the years. I can’t keep doing that if this is the level of accountability going forward.
Without sounding condescending, give it some time, they might fix the issue. I’m guessing they have no clue what is the issue that’s why @WyzeJasonJ is not replying. He’s aware of the issue as we have tagged him numerous times but he has nothing positive to report.
You mentioned that you review products regularly. Have you reviewed any Wyze products so far? I’m asking because I noticed you joined this forum one day ago.
Yes, time usually fixes it. They eventually get there. But it’s a painful road every single time.
I’ve been a Wyze customer for almost eight years, back to the early days when the ex-Amazon founders were visible and engaged and it felt like there was real customer focus. I’ve only needed support a handful of times, maybe three or four, and each time it was for issues created by Wyze. Every time, dealing with “support” has been excruciating.
For context, I do regularly review products and services. Nine-year Yelp Elite, nine-year Google Local Guide, plus Trustpilot and Vine. My Google reviews alone just crossed one million views, which was pretty cool. Not sure that has anything to do with joining this forum, but yes, I started using it yesterday after the usual phone, chat, and email “support” finally pushed me to the end of my rope with Wyze and was about to throw in the towel.
Unfortunate for those who are having issues.
I have been happy with the update my two v3s are working fine in the android app after updating and I have rtsp working and connected in Blue iris without the need to use wyze bridge any more very happy
Please don’t get me wrong, I just find it fascinating that you never reached out to the forum. When I got my Wyze cameras first thing I did was hit the forums. I do that with everything I buy.
I am just curious if you have reviewed any Wyze products?
Get you wrong? Not sure how to “get you” because your point is unclear, where are you going with your unrelated questions, Habib? Just say want you mean. Are you truly “fascinated” because you post on a Wyze forum and other people don’t? That’s an odd thing to be fascinated about. Are you fascinated about many things people have done that you haven’t? If so, that’s unusual. And why are you interested if I’ve reviewed Wyze products? What’s your point and why do you care? And most importantly, what do any of your “fascinations” have to do with Wyze firmware problems? Your comments seem like nothing more than passive-aggressive badgering. If so, save them and do better.
App version 2.50
Firmware version 4.36.14.3497
STAY with those, DON’T UPDATE. If your monitors are locked to app version 2.50 as mine are. I’m seriously considering moving to a Thingino/TinyCam Monitor Pro setup and be done with Wyze altogether.
The problem is probably what you’re using as a monitor….if you don’t have most updated app capabilities on your monitors….the most recent updates break cams . I have 12 plus cams ( v3 v2 & v3CamPans that will not connect if using app version beyond 2.50. i have to stick with 4.36.14.3497 for v3s & 4.50.15.4800 for cam pan v3 and disable updates.
I am checking on this issue, the reason I did not reply is I was on PTO for a bit and have been getting caught up. I am collecting info on this right now and will see where they are at on this issue.
Wow, sorry for badgering you. Simply, I was just curious. Enjoy life my friend, no need to get defensive.
Thank you, looking forward to your response.
Ok, I can confirm this is a known issue being worked on and the release was paused. They are currently working to get the issue fixed and I will let you know more when I know more.
Hi there, for this to work, does the camera have to be connected to a working WiFi while doing the switch?
I was hoping to use this feature to connect to an entirely different WiFi (and location) so it’ll start off with no internet connection before doing the network change. The reason being is that if I can retain share access without having to do a new setup again.
During my tests:
- My camera (Cam Pan v3) was offline (turned off old SSID to mimic bringing to a new location)
- In the app, I went to the camera settings, device info then change network
- After entering the WiFi info of the new network (online, working), it said it could not connect to the network.
Was this the intended purpose of this feature or something else? Please advise.
What works:
Camera connected to SSID1 (online) > Change network to SSID2 (online) > successful
What doesn’t:
Camera not connected to SSID1 (offline, imaging bringing camera to a different place) > Change network to SSID2 (online) > unsuccessful
