Got the Cam v4 4.52.9.5332 update yesterday, but still not seeing the Cam Pan v3 4.50.15.5336 update.

Cam Pan v3 4.50.15.5336 update finally showed up as available. :+1: Applying to 1 CPv3 cam for now and will see how it goes tonight and tomorrow.

Updated 2 v3 pan cams and SD cards are visible but are not accessible for viewing in either one.

1 v4 updated and SD cards seems to be okay, viewable and accessible..

That’s really frustrating to read, but I’m glad you shared this. I know this is still an issue for a lot of Cam Pan v3 users.

Just wondering… Which Wyze app version are you running to view your CPv3 SD cards?

I am running Wyze app version v3.8.6(723).

For confirmation I activated a new pan V3 camera that I had and installed an 32mb SD card. Updated it to this new version 4.50.15.5336 and all is well with this new pan v3. The SD card is accessable and viewable.

So what do I do to the 2 pan v3 that are not allowing access to the SD cards for viewing?

Updated app to v3.9.0(b727) and SD in pan v3 are still not visible for viewing.

Ugh. I did not mean to update my v4 cameras and pan cam v3 with this firmware…and now these cameras aren’t showing up on my TinyCam PRO monitor. Heeellllppp.

Welcome @jmwebb42

Note: this is the site where you can see what the latest Firmware and App versions are. Some of the camera’s will provide the previous firmware, but not all do.

So I’m trying to follow the instructions word for word, and I’m getting stuck at one of the stops (for CPv3):

7. Insert the microSD card into Wyze Cam Pan v3, then press and hold the setup button on the camera while plugging the camera back into the wall. Be sure to keep holding the setup button for 3-6 seconds before releasing it.

  • The camera will automatically begin the firmware flash process. This may take up to 5 minutes to complete.

  • The status light will appear solid purple as both the red and blue lights will be on at the same time.

I’m specifically getting stuck where it says the status light will appear solid purple. It’s only flashing red. I’ve tried holding the setup button while plugging it in for different variations of the 3-6 seconds, with the same result.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re doing, but when you read through that Help Center article about flashing, please be aware of two items:

  1. Heed the recommendation to use a FAT32-formatted microSD card (32 GB or smaller) if you want to avoid some potential frustration.
  2. Understand that the references to “folder” (like in steps 5 and 10) are incorrect and that you should copy the relevant .bin file to the root directory of your microSD card for this process (and then subsequently delete it following a successful flash).

I also read this advice from a Wyze employee in a recent topic:

When I need to flash a Cam, I usually plug it into a power strip by my desk, because it’s easier for me to flip the switch on the power strip than to plug the camera into its cable while holding in the SETUP button. Trying that might also help.

Not sure of the instruction for the CPv3, but make sure the “recovery_wyzepan3.bin” is in the root. Then at times, you will need to hold the setup longer the 6 seconds. But make sure you are holding it while plugging it in.

@carverofchoice @R.Good @Crease , I don’t have a CPv3 to test or validate with. Can one of you help out?

Crease! THANK YOU! I didn’t know the file only had to be in there. I was following all other steps to a T. Thank you!!

The most recent flash I’ve done on a Cam Pan v3 was with the RTSP beta firmware, and that flashed as expected when I followed the instructions. A key for successful flashing for me has always been using an appropriate card. At times I’ve grabbed a larger card (256 GB formatted exFAT) because that’s been convenient, and whenever I’ve tried that it’s failed. Even forcing a FAT32 format onto the large card fails to flash for me. If I follow the directions and get a 32 GB FAT32-formatted card, that has worked reliably. I imagine even smaller FAT32 cards would work, but I haven’t had any handy to try.

I’m trying to wrap up some other things here before I hit the road, so I won’t be able to try flashing back to an older production firmware any time soon.

Oh, and now I see that @jmwebb42 has responded with success!

You’re welcome! :+1:

We’ve been trying to get Wyze to update that article for a long time, because it confuses a lot of people. I’m going to see about bugging them again, because it’s clearly still a problem.

Thank you for letting us know that it worked! :+1:

2025-11-25T14:28:58Z Edit: I just put in another note to Wyze to try to get this corrected. @jmwebb42, I realize that your experience has been frustrating, but I appreciate your taking the time to share it here because it demonstrates that this Help Center article is still a problem that Wyze needs to address.
