My app shows the Wyze Cam Pan v3 version as 4.50.14.3339 and indicates that no further upgrades are available.
However, I noticed on a GitHub repository that there appear to be firmware versions higher than mine for the Wyze Cam Pan v3. Are you aware of this, and are these official releases? Should I manually upgrade to that firmware? (GitHub: https://github.com/kohrar/Wyze-Firmwares)
But I’m confused because the latest firmware version publicly available on wyze.com appears to be my current version, 4.50.14.3339.
This is primarily a user-to-user support community, so if you want to ask a question and get an official response from Wyze, then you’re probably best off contacting them through Support or other official means.
I’m not sure what you mean by “that firmware”, because you didn’t mention a version for “that”. You’ve mentioned the version that you already have, which is the most recent publicly-available official production firmware from Wyze, as noted here in the Forum and on the Release Notes & Firmware page.
What works best for me is to get camera firmware updates through the Wyze update channel. Even then I have had firmware bugs. Now I wait for other Wyze users to give a thumbs-up before I update.
I submit that Wyze has thrown a wrench into the numbering system.
About a week ago I had reason to purchase another PS V3 to add to my other 3 PS V3’s (on sale at Amazon). Installation was flawless and when done it updated the firmware to 4.50.14.3339.
All went well and for grins I checked the “What’s New link” and as expected 3339 was the latest listed fw.
For whatever reason I decided to check my other 3-PS V3’s. They were on different firmware. 4.50.15.4389.
Hmmm. 4389 is not listed in the “What’s New”. It should be at the top of the list. It’s no where to be found.
Then it gets interesting sometime in the last few days my new 3339 unit updated to 4389, matching the other 3 units. I did not do it and there is no “auto update” switch on the PS V3’s.
My guess is Wyze has not updated the list to reflect the latest firmware. Cameras seem to be OK.
You are mixing up and confusing the firmware for the regular Cam v3 with the Cam Pan v3. FW-4.50.14.3339 is for Cam Pan v3, and FW-4.36.14.3497 is for the regular Cam v3. To my knowledge, Wyze has never had the same FW on 2 different model cams.
Maybe take a step back and understand what cams you have and which fw is applicable. If you have both the Cam v3 and Cam Pan v3, recognize the fw is not the same for both which seems to be confusing you.
If I am not understanding your post, I apologize. Good luck!!
I don’t think that’s correct. I believe you’re using beta firmware:
I don’t think that’s the issue here. I believe @ronl4625 is aware of the hardware but citing a beta Cam Pan v3 firmware. As far as I’m aware, what’s listed on the Release Notes and Firmware page that I linked above is the current production firmware release.
@fmills1d sorry if I’m missing something here. Following is a screen shot of one of my four Pan Scan V3’s. All four reference the 4389 firmware, which is not listed in the “What’s New”.
Thanks for the corrections. I neglected to consider beta firmware and assumed live production firmware is generally the subject of conversation with beta under a separate topic headline. Once again @Crease you’ve stepped in and “righted the ship" when a captain was needed.
