I have 5 V3 cams, only one has the issue.
May I know the activation date on your two newly activated V3 cameras? It is located in the app at Settings > Device Info > Activation Date.
One is 23 February 2024, no problems with that cam at all. The cam that will not playback the SD from events page is 12 March 2024.
This thread made me curious, so I checked all 6 of my cameras:
Event Playback OK with SD card
Activation Date
6/17/2023
11/9/2023
7/3/2023
10/25/2023
No Event Playback with SD inserted.
2/20/2022
2/20/2022
Note that the 2 that have the problem being discussed were purchased used from eBay a couple of months ago so that may explain the older activation date.
So, in may case, the cameras with the older activation dates have the problem.
But you did reactivate them recently, so the plot thickens.
I guess the issue is the activation date, I bet it is an App software bug. If we can roll back the app prior to when the issue started happening, I bet the issue will be gone. Unfortunately I don’t have the issue and I am on iOS so I can’t roll back and test it.
Maybe some Android users are willing to give it a stab?
Interesting theory . I have both IOS and Android so I will try it in the next day or so, provided that I can find the older APKs.
That would be interesting to see if it helps. Good luck!
It’s been done already by @JDefense and that was before the May 16 2024 date which required all Wyze app to be 2.45 or higher to login.
With other users now reporting their activation date, it’s difficult to pinpoint when this issue first started or even if it is even related at all due to the conflicting dates.
You can download older Wyze apk at apkmirror.com. Maybe you can get it working.
I hope someone is putting all this information together for some post analysis.
There should be some sort of commission or group to put the pieces together and find a final solution. (But then the Warren Commission was useless.)
You would think Wyze would do that… ![]()
Yup, I came up with the same thing. Once I got to a version that would allow a Google login, the playback problem was still there.
My unsubstantiated theory is that there is some hardware difference between cameras which isn’t accounted for by firmware and/or app software.
If I had the courage of my convictions, I would take apart the cameras to inspect them but I’m not willing to at this point.
My only hope is that Amazon will get sick of all the returns and put pressure on Wyze to resolve this.
I recently purchased 12 refurbished Cam V3 devices, and I’m encountering the same issue with all of them. Whenever I try to access the Playback feature from the Events screen, I receive an error message that says “MicroSD Card Not Found.” What’s more, I found a Cam V2 device in my storage and reactivated it, only to find that it has the exact same issue. Given that this problem occurs across multiple devices and versions, it seems unlikely that the issue is with the cameras themselves. Has anyone discovered a solution?
Maybe?
When clicking on microSD from the Event Tab it says there is no microSD installed
The engineers think they have found the issue. We have deployed a temporary resolution while we work on the permanent fix for this. If you are still experiencing this can you please verify that you app and firmware for the device in question are up to date, if they are could you please submit a log?
Can you get your money back because the refurb failed? I don’t see a quick fix coming soon.
@stanlam - You bought 12 refurbished cams, probably off eBay(?) and you did no prior research in the community forum? Or were these Wyze sold refurbs?Do you think it was worth it? No Wyze warranty and probably none from eBay (maybe 30 days). Do you wonder why so many are available as refurbs. If it’s not too late, package them up and return for a refund.
SOLVED - i got all my camera’s to work. The fix is stupid.
- Go to Cam Plus Lite, uncheck the camera that has this issue so the camera doesn’t have Cam Plus Lite anymore.
- Then get the camera to record anything in Events.
- Try to playback an Events and try “Playback”. The issue will still be there.
- Now reboot the camera.
- Try Event’s again and hit Playback and now it should go to the memory card.
- Now reactive the Cam Plus Lite and the issue should be fixed.
Why not? It’s a cheap camera. If you have the know-how to take it apart and understand what’s going on “under the hood”, then go ahead. I wish I had the know-how, but I am electronically challenged. OTOH, give me a piece of wood and I’ll build you a bridge. I’m good with wood, in case you missed my point ![]()
I had the same issue. I figured I would try a Wyze micro sd card. That works fine.
Actually one of my Wyse refurbished cameras had a Wyse SD card in it when I got it. The problem still existed on that camera.
Oh ok
