Wyze cam v3 playback not available on recorded events in micro sd

I bought two V3s from Amazon one works fine .the other has the “no card issue” I put off dealing with it thinking I screwed up with the set up, now past Amazon return window bur still in warranty, went through the troubleshooting with support now , no joy, will be sending it in for replacement

Are you referring to Cam Plus Lite service? I can’t seem to find any reference to Cam Lite (no “Plus”).

Did you try the solution?

SOLVED - i got all my camera’s to work. The fix is stupid.

  1. Go to Cam Plus Lite, uncheck the camera that has this issue so the camera doesn’t have Cam Plus Lite anymore.
  2. Then get the camera to record anything in Events.
  3. Try to playback an Events and try “Playback”. The issue will still be there.
  4. Now reboot the camera.
  5. Try Event’s again and hit Playback and now it should go to the memory card.
  6. Now reactive the Cam Plus Lite and the issue should be fixed.

sorry, you are right. I just corrected my post. It is Cam Plus Lite.

Thanks for confirming. I don’t use that service - just local access.
However, I will try to add one and trace your steps to see what happens.
'may not get to it until I get back from my trip early next month.

If you don’t already have Cam Plus Lite, it’s no longer available:

If you signed up for Cam Plus Lite prior to March 2022, you can still continue to use the service. However, Cam Plus Lite is no longer available to new users.

Now I know why you can’t move a camera out of Cam Ultimate. They are phasing it out.

But if you already have both unlimited and lite, the means to swap cams between the 2 plans should be available. I think I know a painful way to do it. I may attempt it this weekend.

Once you have Lite, you can add and delete as many camera’s as you want. I just added 12 cameras this week and they all have lite. Of coarse I bought them refurbished on ebay for less than $20 each. I also heard Costco.com has the Cam V3 for $20 also right now. Woot.com has the refurbished origiinal floodlight with Cam V3 built in for $40 right now.

I wouldn’t purchase a V3 right now for $5.00 since you may have a 40% chance of getting one that will playback the SD from the events page if you have Cam Plus or Cam Unlimited. I’m still mad that I have one of those cams, the newest one I purchased.

EDIT I just saw another post that some members can now playback the SD from the events page on cams that would not do it before. I tested it and it does work now. Maybe that is the temp fix mentioned in the Fix it Friday Post.?

(We have deployed a temporary resolution while we work on the permanent fix for this.)

I doubt it’s batch related. Cameras that have the problem, get “fixed” by simply resetting the same services on the backend. My guess is that some random code doesn’t work properly when some rare conditions are met.

Yep, but we’re concerned about moving cams in the opposite direction. Once you have a cam on Cam Unlimited, there is no way to move the cam to Cam Plus Lite.

Wow!!! Seriously!!! That’s terrible. How about if you delete the camera and add it back on as a new camera?

Wow. I only have 8 but this problem is huge. Definitely buy under warranty. I did see someone’s claim of a long power-down and replacing the AC adapter with one than provides more amperage fixed his grey-out button. That is the best hope I have seen. I hope it is true for everyone encountering this issue. Something needs to be done to resolve this headache.

@CliffOdell - You do not get this screen on the events page for a camera? Have you tried filtering by camera(s) on the events tab? This is from 1 of my v3s.

Well after trying all the suggestions offered by troubleshooting with no results I just let it sit, after a few days I tried it again and now it works , I can get play back from the cam/sd card, what ever ends well will be well, canceled the return, could it be something as simple as the contacts on the card not making proper contact?

They announced a temporary fix that I guess was a backend change.
