Update was available immediately on Android… Makes me wonder if Wyze might have switched from using Google’s "Full Rollout"option (app shows up as soon as Google approves it, which could take up to 7 days) to using Google’s “Staged Rollout” option for this release (It still takes Google up to 7 days to approve it, but they put it in a hold queue so the company can release it immediately, and the users can’t tell the difference because it’s been sitting there on hold for who knows how long).

Installing it now.

Doesn’t the “b” connote β? I thought this was a production release.

Yes, this is a production release, and yes the b is used for Beta.

I just checked, and my update doesn’t have a b in it.

v3.1.5 (569)

The last beta was b566.

Right. I’ve seen @ronl4625 comment about beta app use in other topics (specifically 3.1.5.b566), so I wondered if that was a typo and if @ronl4625 is back on a production release with this one.

I’ve been trying to highlight that Wyze has no regression testing and why it leads to bugs resurfacing. Is asking for a list of bugs fixed with a release even asking for too much?

Apologies. Typo. It’s Production 569.

No sweat. I’m just trying to keep track mentally. I appreciate the clarification. Thank you! :+1:

Installed this morning on iPad 5th Generation iOS 16.7.10. It does feel a bit snappier but still no full dark mode and still flip-flop interface. Way to go Wyze :upside_down_face:

Fixed/Improved in this release.

Account > Friendly Faces > Unknown Faces > Edit > Select All.

Thank you Wyze. Definite time saver.

When searching for faces in events is telling me I need to sign up for cam unlimited which I already have a license for…

I hate hate what you’ve done to the app. Big reason why I chose to purchase wyze cameras was because of the design of the app. It was user friendly and it was almost perfect. But you have created more work, that makes no sense. Now I have to tap on an icon and allow it to take me to another page, and then I have to tap again. You created more work for me. The older app was much quicker. I’ve had the app for about 3 weeks and it hasn’t gotten any better. Hate hate hate it, now everything’s on three different tabs, animation, devices, and favorites.

I agree. The new UI is clunky and optimized for very small hands (not me).

I get what they were trying to do with it to improve utility, but I’m not expecting my smart home app to be a Swiss Army knife itself. That’s the job of all the installed equipment coordinating. Previous UI just felt like everything was tight & intuitive. New one seems gimmicky. :man_shrugging:t2:

Would’ve been nice if they’d enabled a classic mode toggle to continue using the legacy interface. Might possibly make the install footprint too bloated, though.

EDIT-1:

Couldn’t agree more. Handy shortcut buttons had their own space at the top of the screen with a distinct look. Now everything looks the same, making it difficult to zero in on what you want. That and having to change screens or add them all to favorites where they blend with groups instead of standing out with their own easily identifiable look. Dumb unforced caffeine-driven fidgeting error.

I don’t imagine they’d ever do this, but that’s a cool idea. :+1:
