Update on Wyze Web View

I had to log back in this morning and the Overview is now functioning pretty much the same as the old interface. It lets me select the cameras I want to see (and in fact it had remembered the 24 out of 40 that I had last selected in the old interface), Viewing a single camera comes up instantly, and when going back out of that camera, all the other cameras are still streaming (no more waiting for all to reconnect). Yes, there is now more wasted space, but I can get rid of most of it by zooming out (control-key minus-key seven times), which I always did in the old interface too. The drawback to that is it makes the text too small to see (except for the timestamps) and makes the square (for maximizing a camera) a very tiny target. But it’s easy enough to press the control key plus zero key to temporarily go back to normal zoom. If Wyze can leave the Overview like this, I’ll be happy and won’t care what they do with Grid View.

Well I appreciate the ability to once again narrow down the cameras to view just 9 at a time. I don’t really think maintaining that functionality permanently is too much to ask for?

I don’t think you should have released this new update at all because so far I haven’t really seen an improvement. Being able to do what I could before with a different U.I. seems to be what you have acheived. Rolling back the update would also have acheived that.

The “grid view” is totaly unnecessary as long as I can narrow down the camera view on the “overview” page. I really did NOT like that grid view styling anyway because it never loaded correctly sized in my browser anyway.

I thank you for bringing back functionality again but Overall the Update is still a complete flop because it caused 2 days of headaches with no noticable improvement. I’m sure I’m not being completely fair as there are probably stability issues and bugs that have improved or been worked out by this “upgrade” that I am failing to notice but it was NOT worth being your guinea pig while you upgraded the system.

Bottomline: Cameras are about SECURITY more than anything. Reliability should be your primary concern and you snoozed for 2 days while people trespassed on my properties and deliveries sat unattended because I couldn’t properly access the webview to monitor multiple properties at once. You’re BETA testing on the customers who are relying on you and that’s a breach of trust.

Don’t forget to “unpin” the left panel it helps a lot to increase the camera space within the screen.

Agreed. They’ve brought back some semblance of usability. But the window’s scroll bar does not permit scrolling to properly centre the views on the screen. I have to use the choppy scroll wheel on the mouse and they views sit off-centre.

We need dark mode for the web view and I think I’m good with this new version they’re doing.

As of 4/2 there the “Start Grid View” is still saying “temporarily unavailable”. When can we expect this to be fixed?

Thanks to the team for making the overview screen what I consider usable and for my needs, I actually like it better than the old version.
Also, I am now getting alerts from my doorbell camera again, so that appears to be fixed also.

I know not everyone will be happy, but the current overview and events pages work well for me. Please be careful when rolling out “Updates” for these pages in the future and I will remain satisfied.
As a “Retired” programmer, I had hoped my software testing days were over

Agreed. I do most of my monitoring at night, often with the lights off or dim while I work at my computer and it’s blinding.

My 5yo came out of her room last night to see me because she had a bad dream and I was so blinded by all the white space from the web portal that Even though there was enough dim lighting in the room that she could see me, I couldn’t see her. I had to turn on my phone flashlight to walk over to her. It’s not usually that bad for me since I have most stuff running in dark mode so it’s easier to go to sleep sooner when I’m ready.

Dark mode is essentially a standard need in modern design.

The time stamp is now visible - Thanks for the fix ! I have also found that the cameras reconnect very quickly now so it appears things are improving daily

While the new web viewer is not crashing my web browser every 5 minutes, it still has a lot of bugs. One is the old viewer you can have one camera in full screen while the second camera in a picture in picture mode. The new viewer the picture in picture camera blacks out.

The only good thing that I can say about this new web viewer is that it isn’t quite as bad as the other one that you pushed upon us. The original viewer was not broke. Why do you insist on fixing it?

I was impressed with Wyze because of how well your bulbs worked. Now that I have been using your cams for nearly a year, and having to uninstall and reinstall every cam every month or two because they quit working, I can no longer recommend your products. Before I renew my cams unlimited account, in a few months, I am going to look into non-Wyze alternatives. Your cams have too many bugs, and now you push out a buggy web viewer on us a second time. Grrrrr!!!

Have you tried using Dark Reader with the portal? Without doing extensive testing, it seems to work as well with this version of Web View as it did with the previous version.

I agree. It shouldn’t be necessary to use a third-party browser extension to achieve this effect, but I’m glad tools like that exist to make it easy.

I have it installed and used to use it a lot. I mostly stopped because it didn’t process some critical sites well. I haven’t used it much in over a year, but I could check it out again and filter it to only do so for select websites like the Wyze web portal. Thanks for reminding me that is an option.

That’s what I’ve found that I have to do. It does a decent job with some sites without any additional tweaking of the extension settings, but a lot of sites just end up with content that’s hidden or hard to read with Dark Reader’s defaults, so when I do use it I just selectively enable/disable it for different sites.

I’m hip.

Status as of 5:53 AM EDT 4/3/2026: Grid View still not available. When I log in, all camera feeds are shown on left side of page in small size. If I click the “Clear” button, the view switches to showing feeds left-to-right, top-to-bottom as it did before. I can then click the cameras drop-down and unselect those cameras that I don’t want to see. I expect that the next time that I am logged off and log back in, it will revert to left side, top-down only. At least I discovered how to get it the way I want it. Would like the Grid View back as it was the first few hours of 3/31. Thank you.

This started happening to me yesterday at random times, as well as when I first logged in this morning. I had found that by simply resizing the browser window a tiny bit, all the camera feeds pop back into place.

same here. maximizing the window then returning it to the size i had it fixes the issue for me.

@bitemehardly I totally sympathize with you on this. My neighbors are always wondering why I’m back up on ladders fiddling with the cameras every month…even in the bloody winter! What I did, as soon as I had the first Cam V3 begin having problems connecting, and require re-connecting, I began giving them different names from their previous installation (i.e., I append “first_reset”, “add”, “re_add”, “second_reset”, etc.). Trust me this doesn’t even keep track of the number of times I have to disconnect and reconnect the power cord to the cameras. AND… (and this is a VERY BIG AND) … the USB A/C adapters are absolutely awful. I’ve had to replace eight or nine of them out of the twenty cameras I’ve installed (V3s and V4s). That’s almost a 50% failure rate!!

I noticed this yesterday too. For me, pressing Ctrl-Minus one time fixes it, though I usually press it seven times to minimize wasted screen space.

Sadly, I have NEVER EVER had Web View display one or all of my cameras for more than 5 minutes, before displaying a deadly “Re-connect” button. This is while having used 3 different computers and 3 different browsers. I have had a fiber optic connection for this whole time. Quite often the app shows online while Web View shows “offline”. WHY?

This has been going on for 3 years; since I’ve used Plus. What a waste of money.

Tech support always told me to reboot and reinstall. Usually never helped.

I loved the cams when they first came out. The best part of owning Wyze cameras was because I could put in a memory card and not pay extra for monitoring. They’ve never been totally reliable for me, but they did worked most of the time. Since they were cheaply priced, I have overlooked many of the Wyze problems I had to endure for the last 7 years. I am realizing my sanity should overpower the Wyze reality.

I just renewed Plus with their last email sale, so I get AI detection. Web View is still a disaster for me. This will be the last time!!!

A truly disheartened long-time customer.
