Still cannot connect to my cameras when not on my home WIFI

I have the same problem. I can’t view the OGs connected to my work Wifi, but if I disconnect and use my phone’s hotspot I have no problem. Most likely it is caused by the security setting on your work’s network. They also block the Wyze liveview webpage.

Well i finally got the time to get ahold of xfinity, i got upgraded to the xb8 and now everything is back to normal and working fine, i can see my cameras from any network and on cellular service, the xb7 obviously has an issue like many others have mentioned

Thank you for the insider update.

Confirming it is a Wyze issue. As some of us have said into the wild multiple times in this thread. For those saying upgrade your Xfinity modem, that is not a fix in the true logic sense of this issue. Get certified in LAN/WAN. We do not know what packets, what ports are being blocked. So you do not know if this will happen again with the new Xfinity modem. Those are logic facts. Everything else on here for months is assuming (as someone tried to goat me into a debate) and hearsay. Try those 2 things in Court, let me know how it goes. Your allegations do not have merit.

Your correct it may not be a permant fix, when it comes to networking, modems router ect i am completely ignorant, i dont know squat about any of it, but i do know a new upgraded modem from xfinity, that cost me $0, fixed my issue and im completely happy with that result, now if wyze does come out with the “fix” for this issue that many are still having then my potential temporary fix of an upgraded free modem wont ever be an issue if they fix origional problem, either way im finally satisfied,

Just like everybody else who’s having the issue you had two choices. Change the router or wait for Wyze to fix the issue (provided it can as it might be out of their domain). You chose wyzely

Good Afternoon

Glad you were able to obtain your XB7 at no cost as I was.
The fact that it resolved your issues is even better.

Let us who have had good fortune with this fix hope we do not fall prey to Xfinity’s next firmware update or any other modification to your new XB8.

There is most definitely an underlying problem that needs to be identified and resolved by WYZE to provide an across the board permanent solution for all cam owners not just us Xfinity customers.

Again, congratulations on making your way through the Xfinity shuffle and bringing home your FREE XB8 !!!

I have my fingers crossed while being thankful for what ground has been gained.

As they say,
TO BE CONTINUED……

Well I know what your choice is by constantly replying to me with no added value to this resolution. Simply STOP talking to me! I’d say more in great detail but the PC police will mod me.

Throwing the dice:

Note that not all people experiencing this issue have the same root cause.

This is the latest official Fix-it-Friday report/update posted today related to the issue in general:

Mine just started doing this two days ago. No changes have been made to anything and all of my v3s and my v4s will not load live stream. Mine time out eventually and say error code 5. I’ve had some of these cams running for years and this all the sudden popped up. Doesn’t matter that I’m sitting at home it’s still is not working. Only my Battery Cam Pro’s will load live.

If you have access to your router Try disabling the firewall temporarily and see if it starts working. Sometime the default setting will block some ports required by Wyze cam. Had this problem when installing camera at friend home.

The XB8 has been installed and was mostly seamless. With that, the cameras area ALL available over cellular. My test consisted of toggling Wi-Fi off, freshly starting the Wyze app and from the camera or camera group list pulling down for a refresh, then checking the cameras for live and recorded events all were available.

Congratulations
That’s Great!

As with my situation, now that WYZE is actively working on a solution which should soon be in Beta, hopefully it won’t cause any conflicts with our XB8’s.

Posting of the Ports WYZE uses was great.
Should we experience any difficulties after they release their final update, we now have some the info to go back to Xfinity with.

For now, I’m enjoying the success we’ve achieved.
We’ll see how things go.

The Saga Continues

Now that I can access cams over celluar a new issues seems to have arisen since installing the XB8. My 3 Pan Cam v3s (3qty) have, according to the app, gone offline. I can’t even restart them unless I do it physically.

My question is for those who a) have Pan Cam v3s, and b) have installed the XB8.
Is anyone else having this issue, if so, how were you able to resolve it?

Note: I will be searching the rest of the forums so see if this has popped up anywhere else.

TIA

I have an XB8 and a Pan Cam V3 that’s working with no issues. The XB8’s default WiFi security is WPA3. You might want to try setting it back to WPA2 to see if it fixes your issue.

Thanks, I’ll give that a look!

An update: All the remaining cameras that I haven’t phased out, which still connect to the network, suddenly started working again this morning. The device list includes Cam Pan V3, Cam V3, and V3 Pro. No network changes have been applied, I didn’t change anything myself, and there have been no notifications about any updates for any devices, including the modem. Out of the blue, these cameras started working again one by one. I am able to view live streams using the cellular network again, at least for now. However, the V3 Pro still struggles for connection from time to time or requires extra loading time.

Yes. All of sudden my 3 cameras are sporadically working again.
