Still cannot connect to my cameras when not on my home WIFI

So what would you recommend as a solution?

You started this with your metaphor so I gave you a choice of a path of least resistance. Switch providers or switch cameras, router or whatever is causing you grief.

Hi

I saw your message stating that you had dark fiber on your easement, if you would be willing to share your location I’m a Nat’l Infrastructure Construction Director and would be willing to contact your municipality to inquire about purchasing the existing assets and lighting up the fiber in your area.

No need to reply to me any further. Your solutions of telling people to spend hours, spend hundreds, thousands of dollars is NOT a solution. It is in fact not to be taken seriously.

In answer to your question from another rude reply to me; This is a Wyze issue. It is totally 100% up to Wyze to resolve this.

I don’t think I was being rude, just trying to understand your train of thought. If it is Wyze issue, why is not affecting the rest of us who are not using XB7 router?

I wouldn’t bother. It’s mired in litigation for 30 years now and they have tried to untangle it in so many ways, I’m sure they have tried everything by now. Part of the problem is that it’s partly city-owned and and they can afford to write it off. Last I heard they are using the fiber to link all city services. That’s way too little load for that network.

That is the point! We don’t know the exact technical details because it’s a Wyze issue and they’re not talking publically. We don’t know what ports, what packets are being dropped, or blocked. Again, I am the client. As the client it is NOT my job to fix this.

So you and others can spend hours, spend hundreds, thousands of dollars to fix this on your end. The rest of Wyze’s user base, the other 99.9% expect Wyze to fix this. You know as the customer we do expect, demand the products to just work. I am not holding it wrong. Your answer is to keep telling me I am holding it wrong. Do you understand my point in that reference? Again, no need to reply to me.

A long as you reply to me, it’s only polite to return the curtesy. Let’s assume that it is Wyze issue and I’m not disputing that. But roughly 90% of users don’t have this issue. Who is to say that when and if Wyze fixes the issue for the 10% of users it is not going to open the Pandora’s box for the rest of 90% of users.

Colour me selfish.

Good luck on your assumes. [Mod Edit]

I concur with you that the fiber would support a great deal more than municipal services traffic.

I have worked with a number of towns & cities who went back to the downfall of MCI when Bernie was shut down and 100’s of millions of dollars were already in duct and abandoned coiled on poles and in vaults at splice points….

Typically we go in and perform an audit and generate a plan to interconnect municipal and ISP needs to exploit the potential of the existing infrastructure augmenting it with current technology to best serve the community.

We’re usually welcomed with open arms by the local politicians as well as the litigators and their clients as we have many successful projects behind us and can put an expeditious end to the confusion and provide a 21st century solution to best serve all.

If you find that they are still behind a log jam, feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to offer my services at no cost to them to open dialogue and help to assess whether there are Grants available to help them with their projects.

Hi Jason. Has this issue been resolved yet? I have the same issue. I can not connect through my wyse IOS app when I’m away from home. thanks

Jason, No it has not. That is why this never ending thread still lives.

In order for Jason to ā€œhearā€ you, you’ll heave to tag him like this @WyzeJasonJ .

He has million requests on his hands and I don’t think he’s a Superman.

Jason just barely responded a few days ago that they are currently QA testing some potential resolutions. I don’t think anything has changed in the last few days.

I just heard an update from Wyze confirming that they have found the cause for this issue and are currently testing the solution(s).

I anticipate they will post an official update tomorrow with the normal Fix-it-Friday report, and hopefully the QA testing can go quickly and the solution(s) will be effective soon.

Just thought others would appreciate the update.

Hello, I have many cams at home never any real problems but I can not see them on my android app unless on my home network. I tried on wifi and cell service but still can not. It would be much easier If I could call and talk to a real person Wyze.

Welcome to the forum. You could call and talk to a real person in customer service but it will do you no good. This issue has been reported hundreds of times on many different post on the forum. If you read the post above yours you will see that they (WYZE) is working on a fix.
If you have some time to waste you can call them. 206-339-9646

Thank You for the Update!

Hopefully those who are still experiencing this problem will be able to be patient before investing any money in another ā€œParts Changeā€ fix.

When you travel frequently it’s difficult to continue awaiting enlightenment….

Exactly why I decided to share what I heard now instead of waiting for the official public notice (which I’m guessing should probably still happen soon). Even an extra day or so early can make a difference for some people who may be in the middle of considering various options like equipment upgrades. I know I would’ve liked someone to tell me ASAP any updates if I was having such struggles.
