Status on a couple of bugs?

@WyzeJasonJ or maybe @mavens and @Seapup if you have a chance can you confirm if Wyze is aware of these? OG one has been happening for quite some time, 6+ months. Panv3 for almost as long and v4 a bit more recent.

Others have seen these issues as well, though in some cases it seems OS dependent, pointing more toward the app than firmware.

OG and OG TEL - Viewing SD card video in the app is very slow to navigate forward/back, long time to load each time you move around the timeline. This seems app related (possibly even just Android) and started with a release last year. Does not do it on older versions of the app (ones from about 6 months ago and previous, including 2.5 app). Live view loads fine though, and the SD video loads quickly when you tap an event and then “jump to SD”.

Panv3 - When opening live view on Android, latest app, takes around 10 seconds to actually show the stream, it is just a still image during that time. Does not do it when viewing with Alexa. Can’t test in the 2.5 app since the stream no longer works with that, but from what I recall this started with an app update and not a firmware update (but can’t say 100% for sure).

v4 - Same as Panv3 but started more recently with one of the two recent firmware updates (I believe the December one). But maybe it was actually app and I just didn’t notice it. Also does not do it on Alexa, and I can’t test the 2.5 app for the same reason.

On both Panv3 and v4 - when this started happening, the live view “appeared” to start loading much faster than it used to, but in reality it was just loading the still image quickly. The overall time to get a live stream is now much longer than it used to be (around 10 seconds instead of 2-3 seconds).

Seems like there is something in the firmware that is not playing well with the later app versions on all 3, although the OG has not gotten firmware in a long time, but maybe they’re different issues.

10 seconds is a long time if you want to see who is at the door or what a noise was etc. And trying to locate something specific on OG SD card is very painful and slow.

OG and OGT… no idea.

CPv3 and Cam v4 (and a slew of other models, but not OG & OGT)… it appears that the streaming issues have been fixed via a combination of the latest beta (RC) app and firmware versions identified in this Beta topic: Wyze app Release Candidate , Cam v3, Pan v3, Pan v2, v3 Pro, v4 Firmware Beta Test. 3/3/2026

I hear you. Your 10 seconds was my 30-45 seconds. And sometimes minutes before eventually timing out with -3005 errors. Again, I haven’t experienced those issues since loading the RC app and firmware (both must be loaded).

I haven’t included any OG and OGT cams in my latest beta (RC) app testing. I may start that testing later this week.

I haven’t seen any recent non-public discussion of the specific issues mentioned in the initial post, and I would expect only Jason or someone else from Wyze to be able to provide insight about what’s currently being addressed, because we don’t have direct access to the engineers.

I also haven’t yet tried the latest RC app, but I’ve read the discussion in that announcement topic about how maybe some of these issues have been remediated there. For others that you’re experiencing, I’d consider reproducing the issues, submitting logs from the app immediately afterward, and then posting the Log IDs here so that Jason has a place to direct the developers for getting attention on those issues.

Mine always load, just with the delay, didn’t figure it was related to that one, but who knows.

I’ll let others be the guinea pigs and load it when it goes release :grin:

Yeah I didn’t think it was related either until he said “…or SLOW live stream connections” which reminded me of what you brought up.
