Pan V3 slow or doesn't consistently load on Home screen

This started about a week ago, maybe 2. When I go to my home screen I have a pan v3 at the top, then a cam OG that are visible when you first enter the screen. More than half the time when I enter the home screen the Pan V3 won’t load or show live view. Sometimes it gives an error (13, i think), and other times i have to scroll down the page to other cameras and come back or click on the pan v3 to get the live feed.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix? Is it a firmware thing, I’m on the most recent.

Same issue here. In order to get the live feed I either have to enter the Pan V3 dedicated screen (and even this only works half the time), or close the app and reopen it. iPhone 15 Pro.

I have 4 Pan V3s and they’ve been absolutely useless for a little over a week. I’m considering replacing them with something else entirely because after a week of troubleshooting, adding wireless extenders that weren’t necessary before, rebooting and resetting I’ve made absolutely 0 progress.

They were working fine previously and are on the latest firmware, so I have no idea idea what it could be other than a busted patch. I opened a ticket with Support, who indicated they’d follow up through e-mail, sent a confirmation and then apparently had better things to worry about.

My Panv3s have never worked on the main “favorites” screen, and it seemed to impact the actual camera screen too. I disabled the live video on the favorites screen and they’ve been fine since. I don’t think the cameras (or maybe the app) like so many of them attempting to connect at the same time or something.

The only cameras I stick by themselves on the Favorites tab are doorbells; all others I do in groups. Nevertheless, I put two Cam Pan v3s on the Favorites tab as individual tiles and toggled Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Autoplay Video Live Streams to ON (I prefer having it toggled OFF). I closed and opened the app, and it streamed both cameras as expected. I can’t replicate this issue. :man_shrugging:

I do have two thoughts:

  1. A Cam Pan v3 beta firmware was posted yesterday which addresses connectivity, so that indicates to me that Wyze recognizes connectivity continues to be an issue with this camera model (this seems to be a thing with Cam Pan v3 when looking through the release notes for previous firmware versions).
  2. I’m using Android, and I see that the users with problems in this topic are reporting iOS, so this could be an app-platform-specific issue, but that’s just a guess. I wonder if the problem’s start coincided with the most recent iOS app update.

Thanks a ton; That sounds like useful information to have, do you know when the last firmware update was pushed wholesale?

I just can’t figure all four cameras, purchased at separate times, going dud on me at the same time with no network changes at all and no networking resolution in sight. I plan on leaving them off of the autolive since they’re obviously not functional that way anyway, in the hopes that maybe what spare bandwidth they can retain from that will be used to continue with event recording, but I’m very concerned about not being able to use them at all moving forward.

They don’t publish detailed release notes (at least as far as I know), and occasionally there are delays—like they’ll push an update but not publish a note of it right away—but you can always check https://go.wyze.com/releasenotes to find out when the latest production firmware and app updates were released. Here in the Forum, you can also track topics in the Wyze News category. They usually create a topic there for each public release. (Beta releases are usually published to the Beta category.)

My Panv3s haven’t gotten new firmware in quite a while, sometime last year.

I have 2 pan V3s in separate groups in “Favorites”. I just tested them ungrouped in “Favorites”; they seem to work.

maybe the new firmware will help, thanks.
Good to know I’m not the only one having this issue, thanks all for your feedback

You’re welcome. I don’t know if a future production firmware will be the remedy or if this might be an iOS-specific issue, but I’d be inclined to log it and create a ticket. I’m speculating that it might be related to the iOS app because of the timing and because I can’t reproduce it on Android, but that’s just a guess. :man_shrugging:

It is the same with my cameras. I have V2 & V3 pan and Battery Cameras and have worked to get them to stream correctly. There seems to be some quirk any time I check them. I can not imagine anyone trying to depend on these cams (any model) for security. They might work or they might not. You never know!

To clarify, this has been an issue with the 3.x app and the v3/v4 cams from what I can see. My OGs worked fine with the “streaming home screen videos” but because it seemed to cause issues and really wasn’t that useful to me, I shut that feature off in the app settings. I’d much rather tap my cam group and see the live feed for just 4 cameras when I need it.

With that feature disabled I have no issue loading each cam’s live interface, or even my cam group with all my cams in it (but it only shows 4 at a time).

No, what I’m saying is it doesn’t work well, that’s why I’m not using it, and suggested other methods to achieve basically the same thing, which work similar or better in my opinion. Not sure the reason for the hostile response?
