Cam Pan v3 no livestream

Wyze Cam Pan v3 cannot view live stream. All my other cameras are working. But the Cam Pan v3 cameras are not. I have 3 of them. It started having problems about 3 months ago. Taking a long time to load. After an update to the firmware the other day I cannot view live stream at all.I have restarted cams multiple times. Cleared cache multiple times. Reset internet connection. Un plugged cam. Turned off cam. Nothing is working

Where are you trying to view it, on the “favorites” screen or by tapping the cam and going into its interface?

It has never worked well on the favorites screen for me, I disabled the live view there. In fact it would sometimes cause it to not load or work on the individual cam screen either (trying to load it on favorites seemed to lock it up). Since disabling that feature, I have not had any issues.

For me this seemed to only be an issue with my Panv3s, my OGs never had a problem, so I’m thinking that could be affecting you too.

Another thing you can try is going into the settings for the cam(s) and turning off “hardware decoder” as that can cause problems with some phones/OSes too. Though this currently works fine for me, in previous app versions it was a problem, again specifically on the Panv3s.

I have tried on a PC a laptop and phone. I have tried every way possible and clicked and unclicked They may work after about 5 minutes of trying to view. But most of the time it doesn’t work. I have 3 more of these camers in the box still and I am not wanting to install them because of this problem. I am actually thinking about going to a different brand if it continues. I have had alot of problems over the last 3 years with Wyze cams. But I continue to give them a chance

If web view (PC) and app (phone) both don’t work, that is something to do with your wifi connection, either a weak signal or one with not enough usable bandwidth.

I’ve seen some say the Panv3 doesn’t have good wifi but mine have always worked well even at the edge of the usable wifi range on my property. However they probably do require a bit extra bandwidth to cover the control signals etc. Also if you’re using Smart detections and/or uploading clips to cam plus, that requires more bandwidth and could be taking away from your live view bandwidth.

I’m wondering which Wyze app version and Cam Pan v3 firmware version you are running. Can you find out and post the version numbers?

Thank you for the reply. Those two versions are compatible with each other. I’m seeing similar issues with the same versions under Android 12, but mine are sometimes taking 30-40 seconds to start streaming. And sometimes timing out with a -3005 error. Oddly, I don’t have the same issue under Android 15 and 16. I also don’t have this long delay starting up a live stream for any other cam models. As dave27 wrote above, turning off hardware decoder on my Cam Pan v3s helped somewhat, but streaming startup is still nowhere near that of my other cams.

FWIW, I’m not seeing any unusual delay loading a Cam Pan v3’s live view:

  • Android 13
  • Wyze App 3.8.7.725
  • Cam Pan v3 Firmware Version 4.50.15.4800[1]
  • Enable Hardware Encoder is toggled ON[2]

I don’t know if that’s useful as another data point or not. :man_shrugging:

  1. 4.50.15.5336 hasn’t yet been offered to this Cam. ↩︎

  2. I haven’t ever set or changed this. ↩︎

But it has beenoffered because I have it. It just updated last week. There is a screenshot of it

Like @Crease I’m still on 4800. The fine print on this release says it is a slow rollout.

To add to the knowledge base I did update to app beta release b729, When I read this thread I checked to see what FW I was on and changes in the UI caught my attention.

You’ll note there is a greyed out network selection that says “change”. Clicking on it I get a “need updated firmware”, which has not been offered to me yet.

I also took a look at advanced settings and was surprised to see an RTSP selection.

This is all a long winded post that says a lot is going on and who knows where we are. I’m being hopefully patient.

Changes to UI

New major feature.

For the record FW 4800, with app b729, is functioning normally. I am not seeing the issue described above on my 3 cam pan v3’s on a Samsung S24 ultra (android 16), Samsung a9+ (android 15), Samsung s10 lite (android 15).
