Ever since Wyze app updated, I can no longer view my cameras. I have three Cam Pan V3 cameras and none will connect so I can view live videos. I get error code (-5). I cannot upload a log file since the app doesn’t find anything.
Try clearing the cache from within the app.
Then logout of the of the app but be sure to know your password and 2FA. Once logged out, long press the App and choose app info. Then scroll down to storage and cache and delete cache, not storage. After that, do a force stop and restart your phone.
Logon and see if you can stream your devices.
Found to be the Xfinity Router Advanced Security feature blocking Wyze, even though prior to update worked but this latest update is blocked. I had to disable the Advanced Security on the Xfinity app.
I did try that as well. So another person said it is an issue with Xfinity so disabling the security feature for xfinity lets it through, but I don’t see that as a fitting resolution. Also with new update , I constanly have to restart my cameras from within the app to get them to display livestream.
Do you mean on the “favorites” page? I’ve noticed my Pan v3s just show still images that update every 5-10 seconds there. But if I tap it and go into the camera, the live stream is fine. Same if I go into a camera group or the monitoring tab, livestream is fine there.
Sounds good. I also heard that the XB7 (I believe that is the modem) is a problem in xFinity. It was stated to get the XB8 if you can.
Both the favorites and drom Devices. The Favs won’t load, shows error code -5 and from Devices it tries and hangs at attempt 1.
Is this from your home wifi or when using cellular data or another wifi network? If the latter, it is probably still the XB7 even with Advanced Security disabled.
Home wifi. I contacted Xfinity and told them wyze has issues with XB7 model router and I need XB8 so they are sending one. Keeping fingers crossed.
In theory it should only affect external connections but these cams do need external connectivity to function. Given the known issues with that model router, if they’re willing to swap it, I’d go for that before doing any other troubleshooting.
Final solution was to have XFinity replace my router to the XB8(new router version).
This router model is causing problems for other brands of IOT devices also. You’d think they’d get a new firmware out, but we all know how Comcast is…
It seems to vary quite a bit on which cam model you have. For some, it just prevents viewing video away from home, For others it blocks other connections that the cam needs to come online. Pretty much at this point, if anyone has any sort of connectivity issue home or away, and has an XB7, that really should be the first step, get it replaced with XB8 or get your own router.
Thanks for confirming the solution, it sheds more light on the extent of the problems with that router.
