New firmware and app less versatility

All was well on my iOS26 iPhone until I updated my 6 pan cam v3 cameras to Version: 4.36.16.5654 and subsequently updated to the latest Wyze app version. Now I can only view 5 of the 6 cameras in live mode at a time. Each time I reload, a different camera is not live and has to be restarted. Once it goes live another drops off.

Very disappointing.

Revert to last good firmware.

Welcome to the Forum, @raroop!

I wonder if you’re describing the group streaming problem @habib mentioned with some recent firmware versions while they were still in beta testing.

I don’t want to put words in anyone’s mouth, but that is exactly the same issues I’m having that was introduced in the beta and never addressed before releasing the firmware in production.

Easier said than done especially if cameras are miles away or inaccessible due to snow/cold/height.

Yeah, that’s why I pinged you, because I was aware of your comments in other topics, and those were some of the first things that came to mind when I read the initial post here.

7 posts were split to a new topic: Firmware has messed up 50% of my Cameras

I appreciate the ping, I just hope that someone at Wyze is watching these posts. Frankly, I’m getting tired of Wyze breaking things with every app or firmware update and just sweeping it under the rug.

There’s only so much room under the rug.

The funny thing is that even if my life depended on it I wouldn’t be able to name a worse company than Wyze when it comes to incompetence.

Good thing is that their products are not geared towards saving lives

Is it possible to highlight posts to someone at Wyze?

I have tried to find somewhere on here that lets me message a Wyze tech directly.

The only thing I found would require me to send logs ( for 10 cameras!)

There are a few employees that monitor the forums and the Mavens and Mods alert them to issues like this. Can tag them like @WyzeJasonJ and it brings it to their attention too if it hasn’t already.

Sending logs does nothing unless you also open a ticket with them via their website and reference those log IDs.

Thanks for the info Dave 27

Haven’t had to deal with your ISP’s support lately I take it? I think every ISP I’ve ever dealt with would easily overtake Wyze in the incompetence department.

I mean sure, bugs and glitches are annoying, and trying to get 1st level support to understand what you’re talking about and actually realize there is an issue affecting multiple users is nearly impossible. But as far as incompetent companies I’ve dealt with, Wyze isn’t really on my radar. Though I suppose I have different expectations for different products and services. Cheap cloud cams that I got for something like $15 each on average? My expectations are low and for the most part have been exceeded (especially after helping people with their Ring and Blink systems that cost 5x as much and are significantly worse).

I just brought up my “all cams” group which is a mix of Panv3, OGs/OG TEL, and a v4. It seems intermittent. Some times all 4 cams on the screen will come up, other times one or two will sit on loading. If I switch to the next screen of 4 and back, then all 4 will load. Doesn’t seem to matter which model of cam, randomly affects different ones. Seems like an app or maybe back end issue. But once I scrolled to the second screen of 4 and then back, that first screen of 4 is working reliably, even if I go to screen 2 and back again.

Though I’ve been noticing especially with my Panv3s and v4 that there is now a delay between loading the live stream and actually sending video. Wonder if the issues are related.

Seems like there is some limit being hit as far as trying to authenticate too many cams at once or something. Does seem like the first 4 or 5 to bring up the stream work then others after that hang. I saw something similar when they first introduced the live view on favorites, that would actually interfere with even single cam live views. Something similar seems to be going on here.

I can’t test on LAN since mine are on an isolated wifi from my phone (and from each other). I may try turning that off just to see if it is any different (particularly that delay I’m seeing even on a single cam which has been annoying).

I was not talking about support, I am talking about Wyze breaking things that used to work fine in previous iterations of their software.

Believe me, my expectations are not that high, I just want the cameras to work without me jumping through hoops no matter what I paid for them. Do you think my expectations are outrageous?

Well along those lines I could bring up those wonderful gateways that they like to mess with and break.

Not at all. I just spent like 2 months fighting with Paypal and they finally got sick of me and fixed the issue. Was it worth it for $100? Probably not, but it’s principle, accuracy when it comes to my finances is very important and any company involved in that should see it the same way.

In your case where you have some remote cams that you can’t access physically, I can see your expectations/impact being higher than mine for this.

That’s why whenever possible I replace those with my own

See, I don’t care about RTSP, Web View or any other bells and whistles. All I want is for the cameras to work as advertised, nothing more and nothing less.

I think I’m done beating this dead horse for now

I’m in the same boat, honestly I’d have been much more interested in them adding new automations like they were talking about 1.5 years ago or tweaking some of the common complaints like having 2x and 4x fast forward on SD card. I sort of suspect RTSP support may be in preparation for cutting off 3rd party access with all these new security changes.

Would be nice to have a smooth, clean, stable app before trying to add more features, but I guess I’m not holding my breath. I mean what company isn’t doing “public beta” releases on everything these days.

Yeah, too many cooks…

I agree, even those who didn’t in the past they started doing it now, take Apple for example with their OS 26 fiasco.

Having same issues. Not resolved.
