I have over 20 cameras at two different locations. When I try to live view one location I get a couple of cameras that will not load a live view. They get stuck on step 1 of three. I have reset them, I have restarted, and I have unplugged them several times. They within 30 feet of my WiFi access point.
Are you running the latest 3.x wyze app? See the note at the end.
4.36.16.5654 (February 2, 2026)
Security improvements.
Added RTSP support (You will need to update the app to version 3.9 or above).
Added ability to change Wi-Fi without device reset (You will need to update the app to version 3.9 or above).
Improved facial detection resolution.
IoT connection stability improvements.
Bug fixes
Note: You will need to update the app to version 3.8.5 or above to receive this firmware update. App versions lower than 3.8.5 can’t connect to this firmware due to security improvements in both the app and the firmware.
Did you recently update to the latest firmware 4.36.16.5654? That broke V3 camera connectivity and Wyze won’t respond, confirm, or simply and honestly just say “yes, we have a problem, you’re important to us, we’re fixing it and should have it out by about XXX date”. Nope, they string us all along, no answers, denying there’s an issue or a problem, asking us to jump through hoops of the most basic, unnecessary “troubleshooting” steps led by untrained offshore “support” who are reading from scripts, It’s ongoing terrible customer service that consistently erodes customer trust. It’s always the same with Wyze and it’s beyond frustrating, and for some reason, they won’t fix it. If you hear otherwise, please let me know, I’m experiencing the same issues as a result of the firmware update, as are others - and the “awesome front line support team” at Wyze says there’s no problem.
It broke connectivity to old unsupported app versions and 3rd party software that has not yet updated to support it. The release notes warn about this (see the post above). I believe Tiny Cam has just released an update to support the new authentication, not sure if anyone has fully tested it yet.
The only issue I’m aware of with the v3 cams and the current/supported Wyze app appears to be an app glitch where you can’t load more than 4 or 5 cams at once. Doesn’t seem to be limited to the v3 and isn’t due to firmware that I can tell as it impacts my OG cams which haven’t had a firmware update in a year or more.
Running app version 3.10.5 and camera firmware version 4.52.9.5332. Yes, all the other cameras load fine. There are 10 cameras in the group and the V3s won’t load on live view.
There is an apparent app bug where only 4 or 5 cams can stream at a time. If you try to view a group, this may be what you’re seeing. Even if you have live stream on the favorites tab, it is possible that’s causing the bug and preventing an individual v3’s live feed from loading too.
The other possibility is that your internet router may be blocking the new authentication mechanism this firmware has added. That seems to have happened to a few other people with a few models of cam that have gotten the authentication update. The “advanced security” or “malware protection” or “firewall level = high” (same thing, just different router brands call it different things) can have false positives and block stuff they shouldn’t. So that’s worth testing out too.
I’m running app version 10.3.5.2 and as soon as I updated firmware from 4.36.14.3497 to 4.36.16.5654 on a dozen stock V3 cameras, only a few would load in group view, others never connect. My non-firmware updated V3 cameras continue to work fine.
Then yes, that’s the current bug/issue being seen, not being able to stream/connect to more than 4 or 5 at once. It isn’t totally clear if it is app or firmware related as both had updates around the same time, and it is affecting some of my cams that have not had a firmware update in over a year.
