I’m so glad Wyze did this:

Now if only they’d do this:

Hopefully that will be available as a separate accessory at some point.

If they’d released this last year, then I wouldn’t have done this:

No complaints, though! I like having options and opportunities to learn new things. :upside_down_face:

Does it work with the wise Wyze Lock Bolt like the Doorbell Pro does?
I see it does have Bluetooth, so I ordered it and the Bolt hoping a firmware update adds that functionality

The fact that you can use camera’s as chimes “kind of” removes the need for more chimes. I know everybody doesn’t have cameras in their house so … “kind of”.

Does the mounting bracket have the same footprint as the V2? More specifically is the width the same?

That’s true for people who have cameras that support that feature. One of the Video Doorbell v2 selling points for me, though, has always been its ability to use the home’s built-in chime, and I think that appeals to a lot of people. I’m glad the new model can do this, as well. I’d just like to see the Chime Controller available as a separate accessory if it’s not included in the base product.

The footprint width is very close to the v2, the height is bigger.

I do not see this in the app yet, do we need to wait for a update to be pushed or will it be turned on server side for us to add to the app?

Android BTW here. Thanks!

I’ve been waiting for exactly this product with the dual cameras. I’m impressed Wyze is standardizing and it uses the same batteries as the outdoor cam pro, so you can just swap them out instead of having to take off the entire doorbell to charge an internal battery for hours. Higher resolution, better night vision, and local recording. Overall it looks like an awesome product and I already ordered mine. I’m a bit sad the FOV is much smaller than the old doorbell pro, but it is what it is.

The release email says about the new WiFi chime: “It’s also compatible with all Wyze Cams.” with an image of cameras connected to the chime. May I ask exactly what use cases this will enable? Does this mean the chime might be able to make announcements too, or be used with automations? For example, V4 cam detects person->triggers chime and announces “person detected on back yard camera”?

Oh my god. Can I tell you how much I freaking love the theme song for the duo doorbell? I love the fact you guys keep it real, typically when someone describing the product it’s all about specs how much better it is than everything else. Literally I want to buy this product just because of the commercial I’ll figure out something to do with my doorbell pro.

Will the wiring allow to use exisiting chime, or are the wiring purely for powering the unit and still uses the chime that it comes with?
If it can use the existing chime, does it come with all those wiring mods in order to make it work with the existing chime, just like how v2 did it?
What angle are the cameras mounted with respect to each other?
I currently had to hack together a wedge so my doorbell v2 points down more (my front door is a few stairs steps up, so pointing straight will be too high)

It will require the 3.2 app which will release in a day or two.

It can be used with automations, yes.

That’s fantastic! Does the new Duo have Edge AI, or is it all Cloud AI?
