I noticed that you posted in the Duo Cam Doorbell announcement topic and pointed back here, so I’ll reply here.
I’ve only recently begun playing with Alexa and the Video Doorbell v2 integration, and I probably need to do more testing because I don’t know if it’s my Routine or the doorbell’s Settings (Doorbell Press Notifications enabled) that’s giving me the effect—I think it’s probably the former—but I do get a doorbell chime sound from my Echo Dot (5th Gen) when the button is pressed. My Routine is currently set up like this (overkill because I was playing with it):
- WHEN
- Front Doorbell is pressed
- ALEXA WILL
- Play Doorbell 2
- Say “Someone is at the front door.”
- Play Doorbell 3
- Hear Alexa from
- Echo Dot
I don’t know if that’s helpful to your situation or not, but you mentioned seeking a chime in the other topic and pointed back here, so I’m dropping it in case it can be useful to someone.
