This firmware is junk!!! How do I recer back to November/December version??? Post the links to the older firmwares. This latest firmware is broken. It does not detect motions properly, absolutely missing a person walking by. It also removed the useful 3 second pre motion recording when camera is hardwired. That was one of the main reasons I bought it . now it is half ass useful of camera with missing detection of person walking by and promised 3 seconds recording prior detection of the person movement is in frame. Udder garbage. The app itself is stupid too. How much does it make sense to have the sound muted by default on all cameras being live viewed or when reviewing the footage, the best one is when reviewing the sound event, the sound is muted upon opening the even for review, very counter productive. Also, the "redesigned app interface is clunky and not very user friendly from user interactive aspect the AI bs is intrusive, buttons layout is lousy and in certain areas overlap and cluttered together with other features while there is a ton of empty real estate on the screen or utilized. And do not get me started on trying to review events and live view and clicking the sd card to view recorded footage taking you back to live view.
I’m sorry to tell you that this device does not support firmware flashing (or at least there is no firmware download for it) or rolling back the firmware. There is no way to initiate reverting back to a previous firmware. It’s likely the devs have a way to do this either in person or through pushing something through to a specific MAC address, but they likely only do this for testing purposes of new firmware, rather than for dissatisfaction.
One-way ticket firmware? Thanks to @Cepega’s service
At least funny cow humor.
Well we can throw some bull fecees into the mix if that’s what you feel more comfortable with.
They provide instructions for cam v2 and 3 as well as firmware files to manually flash. What makes this doorbell any different?
Hey, I’m on your side; I want to be able to restore working firmware, too.
I just want to know what happened with these guys. Seems like they are shifting away from this whole simplicity and transparency mindset they came out swinging with when hit the market. They used to listen to users feedback and act upon it to improve their software, then they started to release new products half ass baked instead of focusing on finishing off the improvements to existing products and polishing off the user experience. It seems like they are tailoring their latest software releases to to the liking and structure of their latest released product whatever it may be.
I did think it was a gimmick when I got this duo cam because battery life in condo appt style building with not much movement did not last even as close as to what they promised, but the 3 second prerecording compensated for its shortcoming alone. When I hardwired it , it grew on me with its functionality even though the dual cam is a bit overkill for my needs and this thing is ginormous . Anyway, like I said before it functioned perfectly normal with the November and December firmware releases, never had problems described in January release that broke all the working features and motion detection stopped working correctly rendering this thing quite unreliable.
Only if you can make it sound funny, like the udder one.
Sorry. Misuse of cow hooters makes me laugh.
I’m guessing it was voice to text. My voice to text replies sometimes screw up my posts just like that. I usually proofread and fix things before I submit, but not always and sometimes funny things are said inadvertently, sometimes even the opposite of what I intended to say.
Scroll up. It wasn’t you.
Could be auto-correct.
I have long suspected this when reading.
Have ya been to the strip club lately??
Oops, I mean adult executive entertainment facility and I don’t mean silver fox living community.
I have to blame it on the school system and my juvenile mind.
At school we didn’t have shop. Only Math, English and Science.
(note: The following paragraph is all voice to text that I purposely did not correct the mistakes to show an example of how badly it messes up sometimes)
Yeah. 90% of my typing is from My office computer in between brakes at work, but every once in awhile I will do some typing on my phone including voice to text. In those cases there are some giveaways. Like right now you can see above it. Capitalized the m in my in the first sentence. And now you see it split between it and capitalized in the previous two sentences, causing awkward punctuation and not saying what I intended it to say. Drives me nuts.
Sometimes I wonder if punctuation is going to disappear because gen z thinks that it’s offensive and yelling. If you use a "period " or other punctuation. But then sometimes I review things that are written with no punctuation and they make no sense or say something completely different. So rather than punctuation going away, I think there will just be increased offense taking because somebody used a period and more than 1 sentence.
Also, when I manually type on my phone I use glide swiping. And sometimes the glide gesture guesses the wrong word. So that’s sometimes the problem in my mistypes too.
Although when I typed from my desktop, sometimes I miss words or entire sentences because my brain is thinking faster than I type, and I miss typing what I intended. Haha.
Oh well.
Fix it like it was before, a good proper working order as it was originally intended be !
Either perform extensive testing prior to pushing out the new firmware to avoid issues, as of right now, new firmware turns out to be broken firmware releases, or provide a way to roll back firmware to allow us the end users to go back to a firmware that we knew at least worked either perfectly or with less issues/problems before the introduction of the new firmware.
Also, that effin auto enabled button of automatic firmware update should not be on by default in my opinion. Since we’re on topic of auto update, stop it from reenabling automatically after a firmware update where it was turned off previously.
That and English is a tough language. Luckily we rarely use gender in our words.
I recently learned the difference between blond and blonde.
You forgot blunt, or is it blund??
And yes English is a tough sob to learn especially if your coming from Eastern Europe countries with two languages already under your belt
