Important Safety Notice: Wyze Solar Cam Pan

I am in the same boat. I have two of these, and thought something was wrong with it last weekend, so I uninstalled one and tried to reinstall and now can’t readd it back. This is frustrating. How soon are we looking for a new update?

We had 3 of them and 2 lost Wifi and they got bricked when we tried to re-install. Luckily the 3rd one was not storing anything in the cloud, it was SD card only. And that one still works great,

Is there an update here? This is my favorite camera you sell and I’m getting nervous you won’t reinstate it.

I reinstalled a solar pan camera today…using beta app version.

I think it’s back. Anyone else can verify? Try adding a camera back.

I’m not able to confirm this in production Android app 3.14.0.807, but I think this is a sign of progress and makes me optimistic that Solar Cam Pan may become available for setup with a pending production app release, hopefully soon (entirely speculation on my part).

To solve your problem, Wyze is releasing the Wyze Roach Trap with night vision and floodlight, along with an update for the Wyze Salt Shaker that was sold without holes in the top. Engineers had been working for months to solve that problem.

SAME!!! Mine lost connection and now i cant troubleshoot why. Its very frustrating. Especially because i go on vaca next week!!! :roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

Why do I not see this listed on the CPSC website? Is this true or is there something else going on???

Speaking only about typical CPSC SOP, they don’t usually post anything while it’s in pre‑recall investigation phase. CPSC often posts recalls (or similar issues) only after a final agreement is completed and ready to publish. It’s actually very common for nothing to be posted by them for weeks or months after a company’s announcement until everything is finalized. They have a huge backlog and they are a bureaucracy that requires them to [sometimes personally] verify hazard details, remedy options, and legal language revisions.

The above is just general description of how the CPSC works. Which answers the question about why this issue isn’t on their website yet (totally normal).

Thankfully, Dave indicated they expect things finalized by June 4th, which means the CPSC is actually moving comparatively fast!

Maybe by the end of the week things could be re-enabled and will be officially on the CPSC website. :crossed_fingers:

Very excited and hopeful that a resolve is coming soon.

I was able to use it when it first arrived and it is a great set up but when I had a change in my internet I received the note and was unable to update the wifi.

Yes! Just go to your app for install and it will let you install now. Shows you a warning and then you can install. Just did mine.
