Annnnnd…working! WYZE guys (that sounds funny! :sweat_smile:), in the future, please, please don’t disable correctly installed cameras while you work things like this out. You can stop further INSTALLS by not selling the camera. But for WORKING cameras, please don’t block us again. I’ve been using your cameras for years and you continually improve them, so I know you guys can do better…

THIS!!! I installed my camera just fine then lost it last Friday!!! So glad they are back!!! Its my favorite camera. I need more!!!

The ones on Amazon are refurbs, not new. I actually had two of them in my cart and then they were somehow deleted. Of course it left the extended warranties in there to buy withOUT the cameras. Duh.

Was so excited to have my camera back but it still won’t connect

I am here to admittedly eat some crow. I never thought that this day would come. I am amazed that the CPSC is okay with simply updating the install guide and setup wizard within the app. I figured there would be no way that they would allow a product to continue when the product suggest/recommends screwing into a battery case.

I sincerely :folded_hands: every single person that purchase this product actually follow your directions, doesn’t lose the (correct) itty bitty screws, and do not end up burning down property.

I just reinstalled as a new camera

Ok I deleted the device and tried to re-add it, and when I did, it now says I can’t install it until further notice due to the recall.

What app version are you on?

Well, it didn’t work. The camera charges up fine but then nothing happens when I hit the setup button, so I can’t continue with the rest of the setup.

Hmm, sorry you’re having issues. I know that can be very frustrating. With that said, if the camera won’t power on for setup you have an entirely different set of issues at hand.

Maybe a call to support is in order?

Since you said you’ve already deleted it from the app, I’d just attempt a factory reset, where you remove any microSD card that you might have in the Cam and hold the SETUP button for 20 seconds or longer. I’ve had to hold SETUP for a while (not just a single quick press) in the past when I’ve had an unresponsive Solar Cam Pan.

Have you tried holding the setup button down for a few seconds? I had to hold mine for about 8 or 10 seconds before I say the light on the front and then it worked.

I would try a full factory reset and if that does not work I would contact the support team.

I never had a microSD card in there and I have tried holding down the setup button for 20+ seconds. Basically for as long as my arthritic hands can do it, which is about 2 minutes. It charges fully (charge light goes from red to blue when plugged in), but when I press SETUP nothing happens. No lights on front of camera. I already contacted support and they had no advice beyond what I’m already doing (plug-in charge and press setup button. They didn’t suggest holding it down). They say my only option is a store credit, a refund check (or cheque), or replacement with the non-pan solar camera they’re offering as a replacement. I need the pan feature so I’m really not interested in any of their options. I only had this for about 6 months so it should be under warranty, but they don’t repair (I get it, it’s cheap stuff) and they refuse to replace. All I can hope at this point is that they let me hang on until they start selling the Solar Pan Cam again and then let me swap out for a new one. Unless there are any other ideas out there for things to try!
