Getting notifications from cameras that have notifications turned off

Now I’m not getting notifications from the cameras that have notifications turned on. What’s going on?

This has also been reported elsewhere. Maybe try this?

Best guess at this point is some kind of server glitch.

Restart the camera from the app or unplug it?

I believe he described restarting within the Cam’s settings in the app.

This was happening in the middle of the night while I was trying to sleep. One of my OG’s was saying “complete motion detected” something like that and one of my v3s was giving me person notifications even though they were turned off. This was on app version v2.50.7 (487). Now I’m not getting notifications on my v3’s or outdoor v1 but the old v2’S, Cam Pan and Outdoor v2 are working.

I have reset and restarted each camera from the app I also downloaded and installed from the play store the new app and problem persists. I’m now back to the old app still having the same issue.

That’s similar to what @carverofchoice reported with regard to the timing of the issue. If you’re still seeing “Complete Motion Detected” notifications, then you may want to take a look at something like this:

I’d probably double-check settings there for each of your affected Cams and turn off notifications for those generic motion events if you’re trying to use only Smart Detections with a subscription.

I’m seeing this too.

I only have one camera on Cam Plus the rest are on Plus Lite. The V3’s are not giving any notifications but they are recording motion and person. This is frustrating :disappointed_face:

I can’t speak directly to experience with Cam v3 or Cam Plus Lite, because I’ve never had either of those, but I know that this issue has been reported to Wyze, so hopefully they’re looking at what’s happening on the server side by now.

Can anyone having this issue please check and see if it is still happening?

I’m starting to receive some person notifications on some of my v3s I’m away from my cameras so I can’t test them all

I’ve owned WYZE cameras since 2019 and today I’ve decided to buy 3 different TAPO cameras to have as backups. For some reason whenever there are “server issues” cameras start acting up in the middle of the night and I can’t keep waking up at the crack of dawn to troubleshoot before I have to leave for work.

This happened to me too, only on OG/OG TEL (v4 and Panv3s were fine). Doing “reset services” followed by changing my settings back how I had them solved it on both (a phone restart did not, and I neglected to try a camera restart since I figured services reset made sense in this case). It started sometime after 3:05AM EST (event with no notification) and 3:12AM EST (event with notification even though there shouldn’t have been).

Summary
OG TEL
Motion events on
Sound events off
Alarm sounds on
Notifications on but the only type is “other sounds” so the alarm detection will work, I don’t want notifications of anything else on this one as it overlooks the street and would go off constantly.
It started giving motion notifications around that time

OG #1
Same as above

OG #2
Motion events on
Sound events off
Alarm sounds on
Notifications are set to “other motion” and “other sound” however an automation disables all notifications at midnight
Did not have the issue - notifications stayed off (until 8AM when the automation turned them back on)

OG #3
This one has other motion/other sounds turned on 24x7 as it is a spot nobody should ever be, so while I’m guessing it would have had the issue, it had no impact on it.

OG #4 is offline and in a drawer, did not have any issue :grin:

Having the issue here.

Try doing “reset services” on the cams having the issue. That fixed it last time (this thread) and seems to be fixing it for people this time (another thread).

Can you tell me what app version you currently have installed?

If it helps, I’m on Android app 3.14.0 (807), and am NOT having the issue this time. I have OG, OG Tel, Camv4 and Panv3s. Last time it was only the OGs, this time no issues.

I have 4 OGs with settings:

  • Event Recordings - Motion ON, Sound OFF
  • Detection Settings - Motion Tagging ON
  • Notifications - OFF

Cameras are Stand Alone with SD cards - I do not subscribe to CAM Unlimited.

I have WYZE App on 3 Devices

  • Android 1 - App Version 3.14.0 (807) - Cameras are logged to this account
  • Android 2 - App Version 3.14.0 (807) - Cameras are SHARED with this account
  • iPad - App Version 3.14.0 (56) - Cameras are SHARED with this account

Starting this morning I have been getting notifications on Android 2 and iPad where cameras are SHARED.
I am not getting notifications on Android 1 where cameras are logged.

I have tried Reset Services and Restart Camera (only available on Android 1 App; not available on Android 2 and iPad due to sharing).
I am away from the location, so cannot unplug/plug.

This happened a couple of weeks ago. I also tried Resets and Restarts + I was at the location and also tried unplug/plug. I was going to check/report on Forum the next day but the next day all was OK, i.e. no notifications on all 3 devices.

Maybe it’ll be fine again tomorrow.
