Not getting notifications

Hello everyone,
I’ve had my cams (wyze cam 2& pan cam) or months never had any problems until recently. The problem I’m having is I’m not getting any kind of notifications or alerts on either my android phone or my iPad, this is pretty recent I havnt changed any settings, anyone else having this problem or a fix???

Have you double checked under event recording that push notifications are enabled?

Also, check the bell icon on the home screen. Is there a slash through it. That disables all notifications on the account and is pretty easy to tap by mistake. Here are the three places that push notifications are controlled:

  1. Per camera in the cameras Settings > Event Recording > Send Push Notification. This can be controlled by the camera owner or shared user and will affect both. This does affect Smoke/CO Alarm push notifications.

  2. Globally on an account basis by tapping the bell icon on the top right of the home screen, or using the switch in Account > Notifications. This affects only the owners or shared users login account on all devices they have logged in to the Wyze app.

  3. In the phone’s OS settings, which can enable or disable all notifications from any particular app. This applies to only that particular phone/tablet. (Note: this is not possible in some versions of Android.)

You can think of the three notification control options as three concentric rings or gates. If the inner gate (level-1, per camera) is closed, no notifications get beyond that level. If the gate is open, then the notification can attempt to get past the next level (level-2, account), etc.

Thanks Loki the bell did have a slash thru it, I hadn’t noticed that, hopefully that works…

I’ve accidentally clicked that serval times just opening the app. :smirk:

FYI, in the current beta, the bell icon has been moved to a location less likely to be accidentally tapped.

I plan on getting another camera and downloading the beta very soon! I would like to become a beta tester.

I have an iPhone and an iPad. On the IPad notifications are working as expected. On the iPhone they are not working, I have updated the software on both. That makes it seem like Notifications (step 3) is not set up on iPhone but the settings are identical to what they are on the iPad. Any ideas on what might be the issue?

I would try deleting and reinstalling the app on the iPhone.

My guess would be a glitch in iOS that even though it appeared that notifications were enabled for the app, they were in fact not. Deleting the app and reinstalling clears out all of the app’s iOS settings which would overwrite such a glitch.

Hi, @fozzy220. Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear about your notifications not working.

What app version are you using Beta or Production?
Have you double checked all of your settings? Sometimes it’s easy to accidentally tap the bell icon at the top of the app. Make sure it doesn’t have a slash through it. :slightly_smiling_face:

No the bell is fine. I checked all the settings 2 of 5 are working fine. 1 never worked and the other one hmjust stop wow

If you haven’t tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app that might be worth a try.

If this doesn’t help, I would recommend contacting Wyze Support and start a Support Ticket.

Loki, I have chosen to receive notifications, but don’t get any. What are the notification options? Text or Email? I can find a option to choose.
