I think the idea is to toggle off Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Autoplay Video Live Streams to prevent those from automatically playing on the Favorites tab (if you have individual, non-grouped camera tiles that you’ve placed there) as a means to compensate for the slow-loading Cam v4s. There appears to be a fix for that loading/connection issue with the most recent β firmware release, and I would expect that to mature to production sometime this month.
With regard to your primary issue, if you’re using a subscription and have selected Settings ➜ Event Recording ➜ Smart Detection Events but are still seeing unwanted generic “Complete Motion Detected” and “Sound Detected” notifications, then you’ll need to temporarily switch RECORDING PREFERENCES to All Events in order to make the Customize Detections screen available so that you can deselect those. Sometimes that’s part of what may get reset with a firmware update or when using Reset Services, so you’d want to do something like this:
- Navigate from Video Doorbell v2’s Live Stream screen to Settings ➜ Event Recording.
- In the RECORDING PREFERENCES section, select All Events. This changes the Customize Recordings item in that section to Customize Detections.
- Tap Customize Detections.
- On the Customize Detections screen, deselect Other Motion and Other Sounds for the NOTIFY column.
- Navigate back one screen to Event Recordings and select Smart Detection Events. This will change Customize Detections back to Customize Recordings.
If you’re still receiving notifications and generating events for motion outside your Detection Zone, then you may want to verify that the zone is set as desired. If you don’t already have it enabled, then you may want to turn on Motion Tagging at least until you’ve had a chance to capture some events so that you can have a better idea (from the green Motion Tagging boxes) if the motion triggering those events is within or outside your Detection Zone.
