Error (code 3001)!

I have been using the v3 with the same set up and no error 3001. However I do seem to get error 01 failed to fetch video from the cloud. I cleared the data and cache from the app and will now see if that helps. It’s not too a big deal as the video event is actually there but just gives the error.

Normally the v3 firmware is already updated with the fix for error 3001.

I have a problem sometimes that my v3 cameras don’t upload a video to the cloud & I get only a thumbnail.
My v3s are the furthest away from the router & I can understand that sometimes that there is a weak connection which might cause problems uploading the video quickly.
However all my cameras have SD cards so they could implement a function where the motion event is uploaded from the SD backup but I guess they don’t have this today.

Getting our first test next week!

Public Beta testing of firmware to resolve this issue has finally begun for the cam-pan-v1 and cam-v1-v2 :

Once this goes through Beta testing, if it passes well, it will then be launched to Public Production firmware for everyone.

If you desperately don’t want to wait for it to launch as production, you can sign up for and install the Beta firmware for one or more of your cams sooner. Just be aware that it is Beta for now.

This week’s update:

Has anyone experiencing this issue tried the beta firmware, and if so, what has been your experience so far?

I haven’t heard much about this lately, so it sounds like they may have resolved it, at least for the V2’s:

Anyone using the beta firmware still experiencing this? If you’re on Public/Production firmware, they should be launching this update soon. Feel free to load the beta earlier if you don’t want to wait.

No change here, constant errors.

I haven’t changed anything. And nothing has changed. Still see 3001 on all cameras on a regular basis… Just don’t waste my time writing about it anymore. I really think 3001 has had it’s second birthday. If they haven’t figured it out by now, what are the chances…???

I’ve been away a couple weeks, no new posts here for a while. Are people still having the problem? I am.

I have not seen 3001 since the last firmware up date. Not sure that it’s cured. I don’t check events as much as I did at one time. Tired of the app begging me to get Cam Plus every time I touch it. Or to buy something else Wyze is peddling.
Could be they finally took care of the problem. If that’s the case, no pat on the back for Wyze. It took TWO YEARS. Or maybe others feel the same way I do and were tired of wasting time talking about 3001 and seeing nothing happen.

Yes I still have the issue. I’m more concerned about half the cameras that I own being useless than Wyze exposing a limited amount of cameras to someone else for a brief period of time. Has anyone told Wirecutter that the actual cameras don’t work?

For anyone still having problems, will you post which camera model it is and what the firmware version is (go to settings and then Device Info)

Also, just in case it matters, please list your phone model and app version.

2 Pan Cams, FW 4.10.9.1851
2 V2s, FW 4.9.9.1851
The one V2 I have on the “Cam Plus” has the same FW and is NOT having the error.
I have 2 V3’s that do not seem to be infected.

Android phone is a Google Pixel 4a and has App V2.45.0 (342)

As there is no explanation from Wyze about the cause or correction, I assume with the new firmware it will mean that newly recorded events shouldn’t have the error but events recorded before the firmware update will still display the error in the app?

I have also been experiencing this issue for some time on my Wyze Cam Pan using Android.

Firmware - 4.10.9.1851

I did a manual FW update for the cam-pans and that seems to have helped.
The FW update was released today for my V2s so we’ll see how that goes.
Here’s a list of the most current FW versions.

Thanks for the followup @Fisherguy . If you find the error recurring after the updated firmware, please check back!

@marketwiz99 it looks like you still have the old firmware. The fix for this error on the Pan Cam will be with firmware 4.10.9.2351 which says gradual release, but Wyze indicated it should be available to everyone now. Fisherguy indicates that they didn’t have it show up for the Pan cams yet either. I will let someone at Wyze know that not everyone is seeing the update yet like they indicated in their Fix it Friday report. Maybe they only released the V2 fix to everyone and the Pan cam fix hasn’t made it to that point yet. They were released around the same time, so I expected they should both be on the same release schedule to everyone. I will ask and see what we can find out.

Mine all seem to be cured, finally. :crossed_fingers:
