Duo Cam Doorbell

Good morning Spamoni, was wondering, should I cut my losses and contact my credit card company and see if I can get the charges removed from my credit card, if not what do you recommend as next steps, Thx.

That would be your call on contacting your CC Company. I believe you have 30 days to dispute it, but don’t quote me on that.

I would contact Wyze Support. I went to there chat engine and entered Phone Support a couple of times. Here is the number:

It sounds like you want to talk to an agent by phone. We’re sorry to hear that! Here’s our US phone number: +1 425 472-4225.

Sgatoff,
One thing to check that would cause your chime to ring without someone actually ringing the doorbell. Is the triggers set on the Chime device. Navigate to and select the WIFI Chime in your list of devices on the Wyze App to view the device. Youll see a triggers section below the big round On/Off. What triggers are set? If there’s any besides the the Doorbell is pressed then this would cause the issue your describing. For instance if you have any triggers with the words detects motion then youll need to delete that trigger and any with the words detects motion. This will ring the doorbell evertime your doorbell cam or any cam detects motion. Youll need to remove any triggers besides the trigger that says when pressed. This would explain why your doorbell is constantly ringing.

Please let me know if this helps. Thanks and good luck!

Thanks, appreciate it but I already tried that. I dont know if I got a bad unit or what, I’ve had so many issues with this thing. I keep getting alerts on the duo cam and have tried adjusting sensitivity and detection zones and still keep getting alerts. I have the Customize Detections set to only Person and Package and get alerts when there is nobody at the door or any packages. Even shadows from car lights set this off. Going to cut my losses and probably get rid of this and get another brand. Really appreciate you trying to help though. Have a good holiday.

@sgatoff,

Before you give up.

I’m seeing something at the beginning of this thread that makes me nervous. It is your screenshot that shows “other motion”

If you have time review my experience with this setting. You may want to remove “all motion” and only select “person and package”

Hope this helps.

When I initially set it up I had that box checked off but took it off a while ago and the problem persisted but thanks for trying to help me out!

Did you set Setting > Event Recording > Smart Detection Events. This was the only way I could get back to “normal”.

Thanks, I changed it to Smart Detection Events, maybe that will do the trick. Maybe you can answer another question. . . . .I have a wired doorbell so I connected both the wires on the doorbell to the Duo Cam and I also have the Wyze chime in the house that I pared with the Duo Cam. I have the manual doorbell chime in the house that has two wires, should I be using the jumper wire that was provided in the Duo Cam package and jump those two wires in the manual doorbell unit inside the house or dont I use the jumper wire? Thank you!

@sgatoff,

Disclaimer: I do not have a Duo so I am not that familiar (v2 has been working great). A couple of questions.

The Duo has a battery. You said you connected the 2 doorbell wires to the Duo. Is the battery showing it is charging? If so that’s a good sign. If not then the jumper or chime bypass may be required, unless you want battery only operation (I doubt it).

What are your expectations when you press the dorrbell button? Do you want just the included chime or your original chime and the wyze chime.

There are others on this forum that I consider experts in wiring the original chime box. Hopefully one of them will chime in (pun intended).

Thanks for your response. what I would like is for when someone rings the DuoCam doorbell, the Wyze chime rings and not the regular previously installed doorbell. How do I determine if the battery is charging or not?

In that case, you probably just want to bypass the home’s built-in chime, as I described in a previous reply.

Since I don’t have a Duo I cannot answer that precisely.

There have been multiple complaints in this forum about pure battery life, especially with excessive notifications.

Maybe someone with a Duo can confirm, or not, if the Duo has a battery indicator, much like the outdoor battery cams have.

It does: How do I know Duo Cam is charging. (I also don’t have a Duo Cam Doorbell. I like my Video Doorbell v2.)
