As far as I know, this is the only approved way to power Wyze Video Doorbell (the actual original product that goes by that name). If you’re talking about a different model, then additional information would be helpful in understanding the nature of the question, but all five of the Wyze doorbell cameras can be powered this way, and some of those models (Video Doorbell Pro, Duo Cam Doorbell[1], and even the new Battery Video Doorbell) can also use battery power. Video Doorbell v2 is intended to be used as a wired doorbell (no battery option) connected to a home’s chime via its included Chime Controller.
My understanding of Duo Cam Doorbell is that its removable battery is required to be installed even when it’s wired to a home’s low-voltage AC. ↩︎
