Wyze Sense sensors will not connect to bridge

Same problem here. Just got a new sensor pack and nothing connects. I submitted a ticket as well and they came back with all the usual stuff and of course it didn’t work. I will update if they guide me to get mine working

they’ve asked me to also check the batteries, but it didn’t make a change. they’re sending me a replacement kit

Support person email led me through a few troubleshooting things. I even have a new additional 4 contact pack they had me try connecting all of those. Same problem all time out. They decided it must be a bad bridge and have asked for info to get a replacement bridge send to me.

They are sending me new sensors. I have no faith in that fixing the issue

I forgot, here’s one more thing that helped me…for some reason Energizer batteries didn’t seem to work well in my Wyze sensors. I bought brand new ones from Menards and they worked horribly…I don’t know, maybe it was just me.

But when I used ones that I bought from Amazon, they seemed to work better.

I have the same issue. I bought 2 sensors, neither connected. I put in a ticket and finally was contacted. Wyze sent replacement but it also times out. I am so done.:frowning:

I got the replacement bridge today. Plugged it into the V2 cam and it connected to the camera fine. I then connected the Motion Sensor and 6 contact sensors just like the directions say it should. All sensor are operating as expected but I still need to mount them but they are placed near their final location now to make sure signals are good .

A couple of things I should mention.

  • I now have the beta android app v2.11.32 installed on my Pixel 3a phone.
  • The bridge says the firmware is up to date even though it has 0.0.0.30 on it, not the latest 0.0.0.33
  • I am seeing there is an update for the 2 plugs from 1.2.0.72 to 1.2.0.80. Not sure if that is because I am a beta tester now or a normal update. They are working with rules I have created with the sensors. I will hold off until tomorrow on this update.

I will update as I can now really put these sensors through a good test.

So everyone is having problems with the “senses” not working? For me - 2 bridges, 8 senses, 2 motion, ALL useless. And have restarted, re-installed, cussed, sacrificed a chicken - nothing.

Guess going thru making a service ticket would be just pages of crap for no reason?

Sacrificing a chicken normally does the trick. Interesting it did not work this time. Wyze does seem to have a problem with the quality of their sense kit

Still having the same issue. Reverted firmware, even manually flashed firmware from SD card (ran I to firmware update corruption temporarily bricking my WCv2 ) and reconnected bridge, and nothing. Live in Canada with no support.

Wyze sent me a replacement Sense pack, and this time I had no issues connecting the sensors. Even the sensors that came with the original Sense pack worked fine, so it must have been a defect with the bridge

What’s the process to get the new ones?

You need to file a support ticket. They’ll ask you whether you’ve followed all the recommendations (upgrading firmware, rebooting wifi router, checking battery placement in the sensors), and if none of this works, they’ll decide whether to send you a replacement. I think they must have a quality issue overall because it didn’t take much to have them send the replacement. In addition, you get to keep the original pack, probably because the cost of shipping + restocking is higher than the value of the product

I’m tired of messing with this. I’ve got WAY TOO MUCH TIME wrapped up in trying to get these various sensors to work.
Also I ordered a watch last April still nada.
I think that WYZE need to quite coming out with new products and get the old ones to work properly.

Just got the new kit. Bad bridge in first kit. All sensors work with new one

Ordered additional Sensor kit, lost 2 days trying everything to get Contacts connected, Motion sensor connects fine. Tried connecting to existing bridge to no avail, and now replaced battery on existing Contact sensor on existing bridge and that won’t connect either. Firmware is at latest for everything, tried keeping 1 bridge off, factory resets on Cam and bridge, everything is close together… surely this should not be that hard, I have a ‘Wyze’ house, just getting to the point where it’s so unstable and undependable to be used for home security it’s time to move away.

Okay guys. After receiving my sensors today and reading the whole topic, I decided trying something that I didn’t see any mention before.

I had the very same issue as all of you (everything connected correctly, blue light consistently on and blinking while waiting for sensor to be reset, latest firmware, etc, etc, etc) and I found it very unlikely that so many bridges would be sent out as faulty units.

I notice that no one tried to use that Wyze Button on the bridge (I might have missed something, but I guess not). So this is what I tried: after doing everything right and having the blue light on, I held that Wyze button pressed until it changed color (if I remember it right, it went to orange, and it took more than just 5 seconds, so be patient - I don’t want to try again here since I have it all connected and working now). When it change colors, release it.
After a minute or so, it changed to Orange/Blue and it wouldn’t get back to steady blue. So I unplugged the camera from power, waited 10 seconds, plugged back in (with the bridge always connected). After finishing to boot up, the bridge went back to blue (it took a little longer than usual, like 2 or 3 mins max) and then I was able to connect all my sensors.

I believe that the bridge enter into a certain state that needs to be reset and holding that button does the job.

I hope it helps some of you out there.

I’m going to try this right now and see if it works. I did try the square button on the back of the bridge, but not for the amount of time you specified.

This totally worked, first time. Thank you for the detailed tips. I do need to replace my sensor button battery, but at least now I know they work.

Sorry tried this for the past hour, and still no go for me. I have 2 other sensors (motion and one contact) that are working, but can’t get the 2nd contact sensor to pair after the battery ran dead.
