I have 7 cameras. They all point into dark areas at some point during the night, most thru windows. I’m replacing every one of them. ![]()
The bugs i’m talking about relate to cameras and sensors going offline and not reconnecting (but do if you manually reboot them or similar action), the need to sometimes reconnect sensors if there is an power or internet outage or issue with the assigned bridge. These are not one off individual issues but similar themes that many people report, and happen even on a quality mesh wifi system.
I see no end to this rabbit hole ![]()
Technology is like that, lol.
You won’t regret it. ![]()
I’m replacing all my v2 cams with the v3.
@UserCustomerGwen, Hi! Is the conector still a micro USB? Is the power adapter 110/220 V?
What’s the difference between the included power adapter and the optional “outdoors” one? And, the floodlight accessory consists of additional IR LEDs, or white light ones?
I really feel this is the outdoor camera I was waiting for! Of course I’m already thinking on the wish list: 2K or 4K resolution; an indoors base that can act as a DVR, with an USB port that supports PenDrives and external HDD… ![]()
The connector and the power supplies are exactly the same between the V2 and the V3. The new outdoor power supply is rated for outdoor use, unlike the supplied wall warts. It also looks like the new adapter USB cable can’t be removed. But, I have not actually seen one. Just an observation based on the picture.
Thank you. My finger was hovering over the “Ignored” button.

I thought you were talking about these kind of bugs ![]()

Here are a couple camera taken photos of my patio at 8:50 ish pm. The V2 shot is with the night vision and IR lights on. The V3 is with night vision off. Tell me you’re not amazed. I dare you! LOL
V2

V3

Edit: Oops. Sorry these are screenshots not camera photos. I’ll put a couple of them out in a bit,
The connector is still a micro USB.
The power adapter is still a US 2-prong 100-240V 50/60Hz.
A short USB weatherproof pigtail can’t be removed, but you still need the adapter’s power cable to plug into that.
Details on the outdoor power adapter and floodlight have not been released yet.
In the reviews I’ve seen that it has “HD” and “HD MAX” options for resolution. I thought the difference would be the extra 5 fps, but one of the reviews suggested this wasn’t the difference between them. Does anyone have any info to explain the difference between the HD and HD Max options?
Thank you! I didn’t know if the outdoor power adapter was mandatory to use the camera outdoors (maybe because its micro USB connector has a sealing rubber or something), or if you are able to use the camera outdoors, using the included power adapter, if you put it (the adapter) in some place not exposed to rain.
Thank you very much, I was intrigued for the short cable on the outdoor adapter, that explains the reason…
The camera has the seal on the cable. Reasons for the outdoor adapter are yet to be fully revealed, other than ‘outdoor’ in its name.
Here is how I am powering my V2 & V3 out on my patio.
!Here is a close up shot of the back of the camera. Notice the little sleeve on the power cable. That is to protect the connection.

Yep, that’s what I bought. They work great. I could have smashed the Wyze one into the outlet box, but the cable would have been pinched over really hard.

Thanks @WyzeJasonJ that was getting too much for this topic. ![]()
