Yeah I think I need to have this camera replaced, today the camera turned pink, I power cycled it 4 times, now its blue again. Not as bad as the first time it went blue, but this is not normal. I have 9 other Wyze cams from V1 to V3 and OG Standard and Teke and this cam is the only one that gives me trouble ( the OG tele)
Agree. Needs to be replaced.
The pink is defiantly the IR filter getting stuck and if it stayed stuck through 4 power cycles id say something is wrong with that filter. I am still convinced the blue is a result of the heavy image processing and exposure/white balance control trying to expose the view correctly. Let us know what Support has to say!
Yeah they are processing a replacement as we speak, I always want to try to resolve before going this route. P.S. They did also mention that… in regards to the IR/ Night vision stuff.
I had bluish, normal and green-ish tinting all show up in the same events timeline last night within 30 minutes of each other.
I assumed it just had to do with lighting changes as the sun was setting and the camera was adjusting to the varying amount of light it could take in. The purple/pink getting stuck issue is definitely a bad IR filter that needs a replacement, so I am glad they are taking care of you.
Its just so weird that its only that camera that does this, my 9 others don’t change colors like what you show as “normal” due to the sun in your images.( I do understand what you are saying ans showing in your image I just don’t experience that in mine) the OG Tele faces the same way as one of my V3’s and it does not test out the rainbow at any time of day lol. But yeah for sure an issue with some filters, and they took care of me quickly Been with Wyze Since V1 I think it was 2018 and the forums since 2019, and this is the only time I received a defect in a cam.
There are several variables at play that effect the comparison between the v3 and the OGTelly. FOV, Zoom, time of day, sun level, light level, darkness or dark colors in view etc. I get the blue ground in winter almost everyday with my exterior cams trying to expose everything correctly. Dependant on all plus more items listed above.
Just the image processing that is set to do as good as it can in the most situations that it can. I think during launch Dongsheng mentioned that the image processing is ramped up in the OG cams to help lighten the image a little more than the other cams. I can see that is the reason folks are experiencing stuff like this more.
Edit) photo above is from a v3.
Nice comparisons, Jim! I was hesitating on the OG model. I’ll have to give them a try. Meanwhile I’ve been impressed with the V3 compared to the V2.
Hi Wayne. Did not know you were here. For the benefit of others, I have known Wayne for something close to 40 years…
I primarily wanted to try the OG specifically for the tele version. Something I have wanted for quite some time. I have places where the V2 is just fine, but especially for outdoor use, the V3 is vastly better. I have a bunch of both, so if you want to know something, give me a call…
And Jim turned me on to Wyze cameras. He created a monster!

The Stack Kit for Wyze Cam OG is now live on wyze.com.
I Ordered that quick, I bet they will sell quickly, I really feel it will be a great feature to have those two cams stacked and pointed at the same area and have those 2 perspectives.
I’m tempted to buy some just for the good-quality splitter cable for other cams I have near each other, or to be able to put a second cam near one already there (ie: using the outdoor power adapter giving off 2Amps to split to 2 cameras that only need 1Amp each).
It’s not a terrible price just for the splitter alone, let alone the rest of it.
What stinks on this, is looks like there is a shipping charge. Where as if this kit was available on launch day when many bought the cameras.
Yeah, $6 Shipping for an $8 Item, for sure not a fan, If I need more I’ll wait until it shows up on Amazon.
Agree.

I would Love a 7X and a Macro! - I went and Voted!
Edit: I’m Curious so I went ahead and purchased a kit of those Phone “Zoom Lenses” that you can use on your phone, Wonder if those will work as a test for zooming in
