Wyze Cam OG - Released 1/17/2023

We’re launching another $20 camera! :eyes:

Are you ready to see things differently? Check out Wyze Cam OG and Wyze Cam OG Telephoto! Haven’t you ever wanted to take a closer look at that one small thing in your live stream? See the world through a wide-angle camera with a built-in spotlight and then take that closer look using a 3x telephoto lens. You can even use the upcoming stackable mounting option with the Wyze Cam OG Stack Kit for those of us excited by blocks or consistent angles (this isn’t available on our website yet).

These cameras with Color Night Vision are IP65 weather-resistant and have improved 2-way audio, faster notifications, and faster loading times. :runner: :dash:

Join us for a live AMA streamed on the product page at wyze.com at 12:00 PM Pacific to hear more from the people behind the devices!

These products start at $19.99 and you can learn more here:

Any information on when the app will be updated for the OGs?

Most likely today since they are available in stores. You will need to be on an up to date app.

I have a few questions that don’t seem to be covered in the FAQ.

  1. Wide angle cam differences from V3 other than PIP and faster alerts?
  2. Why no 2k sensor like the v3 pro?
  3. Will they work with the floodlight?

Also, will the v3 pro work with the floodlight?

Thanks

Thanks

I will try and answer.

  1. Are you referring to the Telephoto? That is zoomed in 3x.
  2. I believe to reach the lower price point.
  3. They can be powered by the Wyze Cam Floodlight, I believe the Wyze Cam v3 Pro can be powered by the Wyze Cam Floodlight but I will check for sure.

For #1, I am referring to the ‘normal zoom’ camera and not the telephoto, it appears to me to be basically just a v3 with a spotlight and can connect for picture and picture to the telephoto cam. Any other differences?

The mounting is a bit different, the rest is pretty close.

Thank you, I will go buy some telephoto ones now

Is the telephoto fixed resolution. What I mean can be zoomed in and out?

Worthless to me outside if wired. Come back when you get these wireless.

The OGT has the fixed telephoto lense. Here are the lens specs from the OG product page.

Don’t see these listed in the Canadian store yet!
Any hope of downloading clips from the SD card? If I need to save a security video, I have to climb a ladder and temporarily remove/replace the card!

Canada launch will be in a few weeks.

As far as micro SD card recordings they would be retrieved the same was as the current cameras.

Like everything else, we see things way later.

Just like with all Wyze cams capable of recording to SD card, you should be. No need to climb a ladder unless you want to view SD contents on a PC.

You beat me to it

Hoping for just a few weeks, we did not quite have everything ready to launch at the same time as we did last week with the Wyze Cam Pan v3.
