Wyze app v3.0 Beta 2 - Early Release - 7/2/24

Will there be an equivalent Android minimum version for 3.0?

Thanks for asking! The minimum Android OS version for v3.0 is Android 9.0.

Thank you for pointing out where this was in the App.

The fact that I had to come to the forums to find where history had moved to… sort of a fail in the UI, IMO.

I didn’t even notice that little icon to the right of ā€œMy Automationsā€ā€¦

I’m not able to use friendly faces in Indiana either.
Worked great up till this beta.

What version is your app?And are your Android or iOS? There’s a couple of versions of the beta out there. Only one of them fixed Friendly Faces.

Not to mention that it doesn’t even indicate that it is a history button :man_shrugging:

Remember when programs ( Applications) came with a quick start guide and a 300 page manual as to the features, shortcuts and setup. Now an application ( we are so lazy now it’s an App ) and programmers are so lazy that if you ā€œthinkā€ a feature or setting might possibly exist - you have to google it to find it. A shade of white on white background and a darker black on black have become the vogue making it like an adventure to find the activation area. Especially since the user has the phone / tablet in the everyday world and not at a desk on a computer in a correctly lighted office without any glare where #E2DFD2 and #F0EAD6 are distinctive shades of white where in reality if you painted a wall those colors nobody could tell the difference.

I blame Apple for everything  They started the trend when they scrapped the manuals in favour to saving the environment. However, Apple could afford to ship everything without manuals as their products and software a user friendly and intuitive. Not so much for the majority of Apple wannabes.

I blame me getting old and grouchy. But if people just quit changing the world I feel I would be less grouchy. /s. And get off my lawn.
Before iDevices I had a phone and a palm pilot and was the ā€œfamily tech supportā€ for literally everything ā€œcause you like electrical stuffā€. My greatest time / aggravation saver was to jump on the iPhone 3G. And subsequently ā€œhelpedā€ 50 of my worse ā€œcustomersā€ get IDevices as I said ā€œI’m switching to them and it’s the only way I can help youā€ but they were intuitive- reliable and instantly restored to ā€œas beforeā€ if someone broke a device. I was instantly off the hook for free support. I’ve learned that I don’t ā€œsuggestā€ anything to people that could possibly involve me being their tech support. When asked, ā€œwhat should I get for….ā€ I say ā€œI don’t know, but don’t use ( then say whatever I’m using) if it’s anything that causes me the slightest trouble or is in some way awful - not intuitive or user focused. Need a weather app, I’ll tell you. Need an automation / camera system - I’m out.

As if my own life flashed in front of my eyes, from Palm Pilot, to iPhone 3G and being a family and friends ā€œtech supportā€. Thanks for the chuckle

Hi @ashtonwalky and @c1954ritchey , I learned from my colleague that this issue has been resolved in the latest Android build 2.50.9. Please update and let me know if it persists.

@WyzeRyan Please leave this comment in the thread, in case it can help someone else in the future. After reanalyzing everything I discovered the problem. It was as simple as my phone shifted over to the IOT channel on the router temporarily. Nothing is wrong.

OK< what happened now? I looked at my cameras 2 hours ago and everything was fine. I got a delivery notification so I went in the app to view where they put the packages this time. Everything is wonked again! I can see favorites thumbnails, but I cannot go into any of the cameras. The CamPlus section is not functioning and neither is the FriendlyFaces section. There are no events at all in the Events section. I cannot log out or in. I cannot submit a log, there are no categories to select. I did force close the app, clear cache and reopened it. The second time I forced close and reopened I get an error 43 for all of the favorite cameras, and can’t even see the thumbnails. I am on v3.0.0 b514. My Android is on 13, UI 5.1.

If I am following the thread correctly the location issue with friendly faces is suppose to be fixed but I still get a message that it is not available in my state. I am in MN, all cameras in MN, although my IP appears to be from GA, (thank you to my ISP). Either way, I don’t see any references to it not being available in these areas.

I am on Android 14 and the app version is v3.0.0 b514
