Wyze App Notification Overhaul

Woo hoo! Thank you.

We’ve got an even better way to do this coming very soon actually

I guess I did a mini stress test, eh? I was bouncing in and out of live view, as well, I guess it’s designed to do all these things at once, but still… it actually did them!

Even better is good. Very soon is quite near! :+1:

Has one anyone else started seeing the “gif” style notifications?

I received my cam v4 last night and have been very pleasantly surprised to find that the notifications on this cam included essentially a gif of the motion.

I remembered this thread and thought I’d pop in and see if this got released without me noticing

I am also on the beta v3 app so that may have something to do with it as well?

Does anyone know what the “Emergency Call” button does? Should I take one for the team to figure it out?

On the off chance it immediately calls 911 I thought I’d ask first

I believe you are correct in that instance it would contact noonlight. Although I believe the first protocol is to contact you or attempt to, to make sure it’s not a false alarm, in the event they are unable to contact you they would then contact emergency dispatch and contact law enforcement to dispatch for your location.

Contacting Noonlight would probably make sense but I am not a hms subscriber. I only have cam unlimited. Any thoughts?

If you’re using iOS it immediately dials 911 for you.

If you’re using Android it loads up the phone app and predials 911 and you just have to click the call button.

I’m sorry I didn’t even think to ask that question. My buddy @carverofchoice was right on it though. I’m on the best team ever

I tested this a few months ago. Unless something changed recently, pressing Emergency Call brings up your default Phone Dialer app prepopulated with 911. You still have to tap the dialer app’s “call” button.

hi there, I was just want to know if you have any knowledge about the cam v3 not recording events and this is been going on for some time now. I’ve spoke to customer service but I don’t get anything that is satisfying on the behalf of my issue except for trouble shooting steps that are Cleary not working. what I mean is its a temporary solution to my problem I’m having. so what is going to be done about this, if you can answer this question? thanks!

There is a known bug that affects some V3 cameras that results in not recording after loss of WiFi. There is also a known bug that results in no access to uSD card recordings when attempting to access from the Events tab.

hi thanks for your reply its appreciated. so in this case what is being done to fix this issue?
because i can’t keep trouble shooting something over and over again, just to get the cameras to record/get notifications, makes sense what you are saying but, something needs to be done about this issue.

We as end users have no idea what Wyze software engineers are doing. Because it is a well known bug, the likelyhood is that it will get fixed.

Was this given and then taken away recently? Or is there a setting somewhere to turn animated notifications on? I just added six v4s to my house and I had animated notifications and now all this week I havent had any?

Welcome to the Forum, @nigel1!

As best I can tell, they’ve been making changes to notifications on the server side that had another effect on the notifications’ appearance, and they’ve incorporated some changes into the newest app update. They’ve also mentioned in the past that they were doing some testing with animated notifications for Cam v4 and that they plan to extend that feature at some point, but I haven’t yet seen a timeline for that.
