Wyze app 3.3.5 - Released 2/20/2025

So true!

But for me, I have more fear then most, as I read and pay attention to the substantial amount of hacks/news releases, security sites, on a daily basis.

and its bad out there
Identity theft is the worst
As a person will spend a few years, and 10X’s of dollars getting their identituy back.

I am not a fear monger, but there are a LOT more people, hackers, and foreign governments, that hack/steal data/info, money, then there are people within a company, that tries to keep your data protect.

I dont want to try to retire, and only then find out, someone did already, under my name.

Call me paranoid, but this is the degree to where security hacks stand presently.

Follow Up to this error

Waht I have found, since the most recent App release / update

The error only happens when users, have Favorites List of CAM’s
When selecting just 1 cam from the Device List, I never receive the error.

So the update seems to have Bloated the Favorites List of Cams people created, and causes the “ERROR -2147483648”

Selecting a single cam, and viewing from the Device List,
I never receive this error.

Just my 2 cents on the issue.

I read and watch security all the time. Been deep into security since my Navy days. Just protect yourself.

I lock my ssn and credit. We have a county program for title lock. Sign up at ssa.gov before you retire to claim your ssn. Life is simple after determining what is important.

Seems we both are well versed on the security issues,
I wish more people were…overall, and for many reasons, from national security to personal.

In respect to technology, there is always a good side, and a bad side of technology.
Even companies like Microsoft were hacked in the last year, and the consequences of hackers, that gained access to the core code that actually makes up there operating systems and applications, has far & wide consequences, more than I care to get into. But overall security concerns for all aspects, needs a lot more attention nationwide.

I wasn’t aware of towns offering Title Lock, have to look into if our town offers it.

SSA I had signed up many years ago, in fact just received an email regarding Fraud and SS, (SSA informational email), and what to be on the lookout for since tax season is coming, and fruad is seen at higher rates.

“”““Life is simple after determining what is important.””"

Soo true, and I should try to apply that frame of mind on a daily basis.

I would probably live longer too!
From less stress

Always good to be on the lookout.

I use an IRS Tax PIN for extra security on my 1040 every year. You can request a PIN.

E-verify is good for locking your ssn, if you didn’t know already.

Soo true

One of the thing I do, is never give out my email address and info, to any services, vendors, that constantly ask for it.

Example: here in NJ, we have Quick Check’s ( Like 7’11’s ) they always ask at the register to sign up to their alerts, points system. using your phone…

I only sign up to anything I only consider nessary, and also never use your real name online. unless specifically required.

My name or any info, when searched on the internet, wont come up.
Keep a low profile overall.
It still doesn’t protect one, if say, your hosptial was hacked or your local doctors office, or any other require info entity. but it helps to keep a low profile. and more secure.

I looked up, the Title Lock services, if they offer it for free here in Bergen County NJ.
They do! and
Thank you!
I had just signed up!

You mentioned the tax Pins
It I used it years back, but last few years, I had been using a tax preparer next town over from me, the guy is good. I dont remember if I had to give him access or something, I will find out soon though

Directly related to Smart Focus on my Android. Turn it off and restart fixes it.

That works, even without a restart. I also have a v3 pro and that one also has smart focus but it’s in storage right now, I wonder if the same fix works?

Firstly, I use Docker Wyze Bridge too.

If you follow the Docker Wyze Bridge Issue on github here:

You will see a Wyze engineer explaining the issue here:

The short version is that TUTK (a separate IoT P2P services company) made a change to their functionality and it interfered with the unofficial 3rd party Docker hack.

No company can be responsible for security problems that occur due to us using unofficial hacks.

Having said that, despite it not actually being Wyze’s responsibility to provide fixes for 3rd party projects, they are still actively working helping to resolve it because they believe in and support many of these projects. This employee in particular has been an amazing guy with github projects related to Wyze and posting contributions to improve projects and fix them when they have a conflict or fail somewhere. He’s not required to do so, but he contributes and helps and has kept many of them running. I’m actually really grateful to him for going out of his way to help when there are 3rd party hack issues like this because I enjoy being able to use these things. The above kind of helping with 3rd party projects is something you will rarely to never find with half the other companies.

They’re working on it, despite the fact they don’t actually have an obligation to help 3rd party projects, only their own official offerings, which aren’t being affected.

Same thing here. Tried to : tap Wyze intelligence, descriptive alert and the ok button. Nothing happens… tried to clear cache, force closing app. Return to first step…… nothing change, still the same old red dot …. Tried to uninstall the app, reinstall, reboot the iPhone… nothing change. By the way I have the cam unlimited annual subscription. And a persistent red dot ::crazy_face::crazy_face::crazy_face::red_circle::crazy_face::crazy_face::crazy_face:

The app on my iPhone has the red dot, the app on my iPad does not. Same app and iOS versions.

I will take a look at my iPad tonight. :+1::+1::+1:

I have a red dot on both my iPad and iPhone. Both have the same app version and are on the same IOS version. Hopefully the next app update will resolve it, so it goes away…:grinning:

Here’s the reply I received from Wyze support:

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the details of your experience. I completely understand your frustration, and I’m here to help clarify things for you.

The red dot you’re seeing is simply a notification designed to grab your attention and prompt you to explore our Cam Unlimited Pro service. Unfortunately, it’s a default feature, and there’s no way to remove it unless you subscribe to the Cam Unlimited Pro service. I know this can be a bit annoying, and I’m really sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Since I understand that you’re not interested in purchasing the Pro service, you can simply ignore the red dot. It won’t cause any issues if you leave it there, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Once again, I apologize for any confusion, and thank you for bringing this to our attention. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
Jasper | Wyze Wizard

I can tell you they succeed in grabbing my attention :crazy_face::crazy_face::crazy_face:

I don’t have the pro service (I have the ultimate), and I don’t see that red dot.

I had that before but now it’s gone.

Where is that described? I don’t see it on the comparison page. :confounded:

I have cam unlimited…. Not pro.

Maybe it’s an iPhone problem….
